Defence:
Sakho out for a considerable time, Lovren likewise, now Skrtel, Flanno hasn't played a minute(now back in training.

Midfield:
Hendo out for about 3 months with a heel injury, which he's still struggling with.
Lucas injured on and off for spells
Milner who's supposedly missed 8 games in his entire career with injury before joining Liverpool(you couldn't make it up)has been out for the last few weeks
Firmino was out for a spell, as was Lallana and Coutinho

Strikers:
Ings out for season just as he was starting to show his worth
Sturridge being Sturridge
Benteke out for a few weeks
Origi now out for a few weeks

May have missed one or two others, but that is fucking bonkers, and all things considered we haven't done too badly have we.

There are all kinds of reasons for these individual things, of course, but simply the number ought to mean that the club examines the whole set up. I've droned on and on about it too much already, of course, but we need a proper experienced first team doctor (eleven months and counting since the last one left) and someone who'll seriously analyse the system.

Definitely something that needs to be looked at, and I'm sure Klopp will be questioning such things.

Yes injuries happen in football, but the amount we've had this season and some of them long terms ones is unbelievable.

Isnt it something like 10 hamstring injuries since October. Insane that we havent høres a new first team doctor

You and me both. If anyone else bar me ever checked those Physio tables they could see the same : Us and Arsenal are always near the top of the match-days lost to injuries, Chelsea are inevitably down at or near the bottom. United, City and Spurs usually hover mid-table. There absolutely has to be a reason for this and we should be doing everything we can to investigate it - including signing Dr Eva Caneiro (sp.) to spill the beans.

Aren't they still training twice a day? That's surely not helping, but probably needed

obviously it can be a number of issues:-

1) We are still in all competitions so more actual games that mean something - more intensity and less recovery time.

2) If what you say regarding 2 training sessions a day - then the likelihood of injury increases in just doing training.

3) Pitch surfaces - cannot help when we have those Europa cup fixtures where certain pitches are not up to standard. Also weather conditions in this country in recent times may have affected the pitches -so the pressure on leg is quite high.

4) It could be also related to the pressing style and the movement necessary to apply Klopp and also to a certain extent Rodgers style of play requires more movement from the players than other teams express. If we are covering more distances in a game then clearly this will have an impact on players. Plus if under Klopp we are making more tackles and challenging more for the 2nd ball then again the likelihood of injury increases.

It is also worth pointing out that the season where we "almost" won the title - we had relatively injury free season - but we were only competing for the PL and nothing else for too long. So players had ample time to recover between weekly games for the most part.

Then there of course player's minds to consider when things are going not so well for the team - they are under pressure and for all of us here we may feel it in our normal working lives where being under pressure can cause physical illness of some kind, including the ability to handle pain - I can only speculate that for a footballer a negative mind-set will make him more likely to injury.

Moron - none of which explains why Chelsea have had far less injuries than virtually any other top team over the past few seasons, not just this one and not just since Klopp arrived (since some of our serious injuries were before he arrived). Which also covers your point #4 - it's not something new.

Wouldn't one hope the first team doctor was more experienced than the youth team one? And isn't the current guy having to wear both hats, which can't be good?

That would have been my argument aswell. Spot on. My sarcastic reply was lost on poor old Ross

Really simple one this:-

1) Despite their form this season - most of those players are expensive, but players who are confident and at an ability where learning the game is less important because they are already top players, and less likely to get into situations where they get injured in games.

2) It helps that they have always had top managers who I think focus more on strategy than intensive training sessions like Klopp would do. Our players on the other hand need those intensive training sessions to ensure that they are able to play the game in the way Klopp wants us to because most of them are young and need to build game intelligence. This is where the likes of City and Chelsea have an advantage because the players they have are at a very good level and already have that natural game understanding.

3) Also - I think that given the way opposing teams have setup against us in their defensive stance, increases the likelihood of our players getting injured more. We desperately try and break them down going through the middle and they are snapping at us to stop us from reaching that final third to create clear cut chances.
