So, if Arsenal's smart arse offer had been accepted and they did the unthinkable and got Suarez. How do you think they would have faired this season?

Would the wheels have fallen off regardless, in typical fashion, or would he have been the difference?

Would he have been closer to winning the title, than had he stayed with us?

Well they wouldn't have had Ozil, but they'd have a few more point, probably be in our position tbh.

I think they would have been slightly better off, but injuries have been their real downfall (particularly Wilshire) and they really needed to sign more players than they did. Suarez would have been a direct replacement for Ozil so they would still have the same amount of players.

Fuck them, serves the fuckers right for trying to be cute with us, any side with Suarez in is going to be improved. They wouldn't be scrabbling for 4th if they had stumped up an offer matching his true value. They paid more for Ozil than they offered for Suarez ffs RAOFL

We still wouldn't have sold him. Henry's position was that Arsenal were a direct competitor (let's face it, for 4th spot we thought) and that we wouldn't weaken ourselves to reinforce a direct rival at any price.

I think a £60m offer might have weakened our resolve a bit, but no they tried to low ball us.

BR: When Luis [Suarez] played every game, we finished 8th and 7th. We’re building a collective here. It’s not just about one player.

Yeah but there's a bloody big difference between last season's Luis and this. Yes, the team is doing well as a unit, and credit to them all, but he is a huge part of our success.

Of course he is, but Mr Rodgers was responding to a recent article that suggested without Suarez we would be a mid table team.

It's probably the whiskey talking, but in the quote from Monsieur onions' post, he's pretty much stating that even with him we finished 7 and 8. Which ain't far off mid table...

Yep, that was his point to prove that this season is not just about Suarez.

He is among the best players ive ever seen so... yeah I think he would have had considerable more impact than Ozil has had this season.

Next season I feel Ozil will reveal just how good he is mind you... but I think Arsenal might get giddy and throw the baby out with the managerial bathwater so...

Which is what I thought, and it makes sense, except Luis is playing out of his skin this season, and it could quite easily be argued that he wasn't having the same influence last season that he is this. Which diminishes his argument somewhat, which is the point I was trying to make, possibly not clearly. In other words he's assuming Luis played exactly as well last season as he has this, and I'm sure someone will no doubt prove me wrong with a bunch of stats, but I think he's been incredible this season. Only a mere very very good last season.

Probably so. He's already knocked in more goals this season than last and he missed a few games at the start with still more games to go. He's been sensational. Truly world class.
