Starts today ...

India vs SA first game ... India were all over us to start, and were heading to a massive total but 4 wickets in the last few overs have really given SA a chance, who don't have Steyn & Morkel has gone off injured.

331/7 after 50 overs ... This will be the largest successful chase in England ... Chances of SA doing it? 1 in 1,000

India wil win this tournament at a canter..

they wiped the floor with Australia earlier this week...

It's unfortunate SA were missing Steyn, Kallis and Smith. This India team is good but even a depleted SA team challenged them, and made their life a lot easier by gifting 'em some wickets.

@Portly - You watching todays game mate? It's a corker. SA are all over the place. So far they are 80-8 😀

@Red Astaire - yes Red, I have been watching on TV. I trust England will not be accused of ball-tampering, as Jimmy was swinging it from the very first over! In a way it's a bit disappointing that England have ripped through the Saffers, as I feel cheated of an exciting game!

South Africa do have a terrible record in semi-finals don't they? I'm sure we will be hearing the "B" word! 😀

I thought it was quiet in work today and then I saw the cricket score and realised why it was quiet. The Saffers are keeping a low profile, none of their usual brashness today.

South Africa have been utter crap - even without Philander (why is he not here?), Kallis (why is he not here?) and the two injured studs (Smith & Steyn), we should be doing better than this. Pity, we could have won this this year ... But we'll continue to choke for the time being.

LOL - Indeed mate. The Lying Rag is fully out in London today so It's only going to make batting easier. Hopefully I haven't spoke too soon!

Has Kallis not retired from ODI's? If not and he's fit that's an absurd decision!

There's been no play yet as it's pouring with rain, so whether we get any match at all must be in doubt.

If the rain clears up, we may get something like a Twenty/20 match.

It's a shame. I doubt the wisdom of holding an international cricket tournament in England and Wales when you could have it somewhere with guaranteed sunshine!

Yes, it's not so wet down South, so had it been at the Oval they might have got away with it.

Looking good now fellas - Bopara has been a surprising star with the ball - Disguising some sneaky slower balls to grab a couple of wickets. This game is truly on!

Lol they even had a decent team this time. But England used their home advantage to prepare a pitch that made ordinary spinners look like Shane Warne, and provided a stadium full of Indian fans with nothing to do for the entire day but drink.

Rather than blame the likes of Broad and Tredwell who were there in the debacle at the end, I blame the openers, especially Cook whose performance was extremely limp.
