His confidence appears to be down to zero. I don't think anyone who watched him come through the reserves and then play on loan will harbour many doubts about his ability and his potential to become a really fine player, but this is not a stage, with this team, for anyone to be a passenger. He's got to play some games, but unless he's able to regain his best form very quickly I think a spell back in the reserves, with a licence to attack and go for goal, would be best. I'm a huge fan of his and still think he'll prove himself to be a top player, but there's no denying that in the here and now he looks dazed and confused.

I thought he looked a bit more positive & confident in his last sub appearance, it was only a subtle difference but I thought it was a minor shift in body language etc.

Should start tomorrow. Needs to get his confidence back and play in his natural position.
Klopp will get the best out of him.

He needs to get the best out of himself, the only way he's going to get over whatever is blocking his way, is by believing in himself. We can nurture him and he needs indulging in, but it's pointless if his head has dropped within minutes of stepping on the pitch.

True. But he has looked very confident since he made his debut. But this season has been different. I have my doubt about how Rodgers has handled all this.

Not rumours, facts. He did work hard in the summer before pre-season. Inglethorpe worked with him on special sessions.

Most of his prior experience is at wing back where he didn't really need to do anything complicated. This is the first time he's playing as an attacker, so it's normal that he's finding it harder.

If he feels depressed and sorry for himself as a result, maybe he should use his physical strength to go hunt down Rodgers and kick the ever loving shit out of him.

He seems to have decided that the shirt will weigh him down, like so many before him. Hopefully Klopp will get that fear out of him. He looked fearless when he first hit the team.

Or maybe he should look at this pay cheque and remember how fucking fortunate he is that his hard work has led him to this. There's a whiff of the 'will be playing for Norwich or Sunderland in two years about him'. Man up Jordan!

Without wanting to unpick old scars, I wonder whether Rodgers' departure will help him. So many of the players seemed to have lost confidence by the time FSG called time on Rodgers. The good news is that, if I'm right about this, one of Klopp's biggest opportunities could lie simply in giving them back that lost confidence.

The players are giving more for klopp but it seems that they now look intimidated or scared. That's the feeling I get anyway.

You'd hope so, but I'm sure there's an element of fear and uncertainty too; "Am I doing what he wants?"
Because he doesn't look like the sort of manager you want to upset.

Not all players react well to the same stimulus.

Hadn't noticed the fear factor myself, but maybe he's been giving some of them a kick in the pants and it's come as a shock. Some will shape up under it and they'll be fine. Some won't and they'll be out the door. I'm not too worried for now, as long as things settle down reasonably soon.

Apparently Klopp shook him a bit during the Spurs game when he gave him a ticking off for not getting ready quickly enough as a sub, so hopefully he'll be a little more awake from now on!

Good grief. I imagine that would make an impression on most English players. And as for Balotelli, he'd last 10 seconds max under such a regime.

I do think many of our players (including Ibe) are a bit soft and aren't able to respond to setbacks positively. It's difficult to imagine Suarez being put off, even during criticism and sanction he didn't perform poorly once back on the field. I'm sure this is what 'amused' Klopp in that he saw timid players unable to close out a game or respond when there was best part of 10' left. There's plenty of time for Ibe to change and get a bit of devil into his attitude. As a side note I expect Klopp to draft in some 'characters' at the earliest opportunity. We are just too submissive.

Good. That's the type of stuff you don't imagine happening to a footballer.

It's always funny when you see a colleague being berated for not having something ready in time. It's not so funny when it's you on the receiving end.

I think in some ways there's even more pressure on the players now. Top class manager in and people are now really expecting results and improvements. In and out of the club.
I'm sure that pressure won't help players like Ibe, but with game time and coaching it will improve.
