Aspas said: “I’ve not had the chance to talk with the manager at any length just yet but I think that good players can slot into any role and not just one set position.
“I am a quick and skilful player and together we will achieve a lot of success.
"I’m really happy to have come to a big club like this one – it wasn’t a tough decision at all because a massive club like Liverpool was always my first choice.”
Rodgers on Aspas: “His most prominent attributes are his first touch, his agility and his dribbling.
“His small stature gives him an extremely low centre of gravity which allows him to jink past players just when it looks certain he’ll be dispossessed. He has blistering pace, too, while his finishing has substantially improved in the last two seasons.
“He is known for his aggressive nature and determination. He works for the team and will fight to regain the ball if he is dispossessed.”
Liverpool managing director Ian Ayre revealed that Rodgers had identified Aspas as a key target months ago – and insisted the spending will not stop there.
Ayre said: “He’s a great talent, one that Brendan identified a long time ago.
“The scouting network and everybody else have done a lot of hard work to get him here.
“As we’ve always said, we’ve got our targets and will work as hard as we can to bring them in.
“It’s always about getting the right players and the right deals for both sides.
“There’s a lot of work going on and hopefully we’ll have some more success.”
