Ha. Really weird and Perth has got nothing going for it. He’ll be bored shitless.
Perth's a really nice city. One of the best parks in the world and some absolutely glorious beaches. Plus free buses. Granted, it's hardly the capital of arts and culture, but there's plenty on offer if you enjoy the natural world, good food, and a bit of rest and relaxation.

Pat probably also thinks that Melbourne is a superior city to Sydney

I like Perth I just don’t see it being his cup of tea. Most secluded city in the world. I’d understand Sydney and Melb at a push.

Yeah, but he probably reckons playing in Scotland is better than going all the way to Australia

My pub in scottyland is only a five or ten min drive from St Johnstone in Perth. Now that would be a depressing place to play football. Rammed the few times a year the old firm turn up, but every other week there's about three thousand people there and they're all arguing about who's got the worst gout

I visited Perth about 10 years ago, I thought it was a really cool place, very relaxed. It is in a tropical zone so I"m not sure how I'd feel if I had to work there.

Yes I referring to it as place to live and work.
For a visit lovely. Maybe he’s a big golfer!

Let’s be honest... it’s not as if Sturridge will play much football - so he may as well go somewhere with nice weather to chill out in while he convalescing over his next broken toenail.

Perth actually makes the most sense for Sturridge out of all the A-League sides.

It's the one club with a strong British influence - from past players, coaches to its supporters (aided by the big English expat population over the past 20-30 yrs).

Steve McMahon coached them a while back, didn’t he?

Fowler played there... Brad Jones *shudders* is their keeper.

He wasn't able to find a club that signed him last season, so not surprised he'd take up the first half decent offer that came his way. Wish him the best. Hope he finds health, happiness and the back of the net.

I can only speak for Melbourne which I enjoy obviously.
Certainly Melbourne and Sydney are miles ahead of Perth in terms of entertainment options for someone migrating from the UK.
Have visited Oz 4 times and spent most it with family in Sydney, Its an excellent town, I loved the huge Harbour with all the different places to visit.

Australia’s great.

I bag Sydney... but I just never got the vibe and preferred Melbourne.

Adelaide, Brisbane & Perth are all good cities - all with different things to offer.

I spent my 40th birthday at a steak restaurant looking out over Darling Harbour, drinking Mitolo G.A.M. Shiraz and watching fireworks.

Perth, I’ve been to a few times - had an Ex from there and we went over regularly - it’s not the place to go for nightlife, but cracking breweries, wineries, beaches - there are definitely worse places Daniel Sturridge could end up.

Lol nightlife, his foot would get caught on the sticky dancefloor as he steps onto it, sequentially rupturing every ligament still lucky enough to be left in his ageing knees and ankles.

Personally I would say Sydney is amazing to visit on a holiday and has incredible attractions and night life. The downside is transport, you really need a car in Sydney to do anything.
Melbourne is a great place to live but a lot smaller.

I hear Perth is beautiful but fucking scary. Temp going over 40 regularly, some of the scariest deadly animals on land and in the sea.
