look at the GK lol

He's a very good team player, has an intuitive understanding of the motion of the game and his teammates, and can deliver the perfect pass when it's needed. His confidence is growing, and he seems to be learning and evolving with the team. His strength, agility and sheer determination are obvious. He is a star in the making. I love him, even if he does run like Shaggy from Scooby Doo.

His current form and confidence is superb and I don't think it's an exaggeration to say he's been one of the league's form players since December. His stats might not show it - 1 goal and 4 assists in 8 league games in December isn't too shabby though - but the other things he does in working doubly hard in winning possession, keeping the team ticking over with his mix of passes, etc. has been a major factor in us still being in the top four despite the injuries we've had (that, and Suarez's goalscoring exploits of course).

It almost feels like Ferguson's comments about Henderson's gait - which in my opinion were just casual, unmalicious observations about his concerns about Henderson's long-term career prospects - have been turned into coal by Rodgers (or Henderson himself) to stoke Henderson's fires. We made a bit of an issue out of it, and that seems to have fired Henderson up. Gerrard's absence from injury further provided Henderson the platform to step up and lead the team from midfield.

I'm really chuffed with the guy's performances.

He's doing well, he's got a long way to go though. He's had a knock in recent games and looks like he could do with a breather. After all his hardwork and improvement this season, the worst thing we can do is play him into the ground.

Yep, I was quite disappointed he played in the cup for that reason

I don't think we could play Hendo into the ground. He's 23, in his absolute prime of fitness with no serious injury record, and other than over Christmas, he's only had to play one game a week this season.

And he runs on energiser batteries.

I've said before, the lad must have to sleep on a treadmill.

His forward runs into the box are invaluable in creating space and drawing the attention of defenders.

If you watch our 4th goal today -

You can see Suarez is helped onside because of 60yard dash from Henderson which drew leftback deeper than his centrebacks, allowing Luis to creep around the side of them. Though he probably would have been onside anyway, it's great to see such athleticism in our midfield. Now, if only he could add some goals to his forward running.

I hadn't seen that but good shout.

Sir Alex Ferguson’s autobiography late last year was packed with revelations and one of the strangest was how United decided not to buy Jordan Henderson because his running style could cause him injury problems as his career developed.

Ferguson wrote: ‘We looked at Jordan Henderson a lot and Steve Bruce was unfailingly enthusiastic about him. Against that, we noticed that Henderson runs from his knees, with a straight back, while the modern footballer runs from his hips. We thought his gait might cause him problems later in his career.’

So what did he mean? Is the way Henderson runs a problem? Dr Aki Salo, the senior lecturer in sport biomechanics at Bath University, specialises in examining athletes’ technique and works with UK Athletics studying and providing support to their sprinters. He was also a member of the support staff at the Beijing Olympics in 2008 and he cannot understand what Ferguson means.

‘I have absolutely no idea what Sir Alex Ferguson is talking about,’ said Dr Salo. ‘I’m sure if people do have a damaging running style it can affect them later. But as somebody who follows football a little bit, I don’t recognise this specific description of Henderson as being meaningful.’

michael johnson who was a beast at 200 and 400 ran with a similar style. Ginsoak can go fuck himself with a cactus and no lube.

He's barely played in centre midfield this season.

Unless there's a new buzz word for the three central midfielders in a 4-3-3, I'd say without a doubt he's played many games in centre midfield.
Rodgers himself has spoken of one sitting midfielder and two central midfielders doing the pressing. Henderson being one of those two.

Great engine! Running like this at 70 minutes is really a tribute to his engine!

As for Ferguson's verdict - @Rosco - you see? even the best managers make mistakes when it comes to transfers 😉

Hendo and Gerrard were almost/indirectly responsible for 1 goal each yday. Lucas in attacking role didnt quite work out yday. I would rather play Coutinho there and start SASAS in front of Gerrard, Hendo and Cou in the next match.
