Nope. never go back. Even with PSG subsidizing his wages, we will have to pay him at least 120K or higher. We could use that money on a younger attacker or contract extension for the Egyptian King.

Harvey Elliott should be back by December end. Morton is slowly making a claim. If we run into another midfield injury crisis, would rather play Morton than Gini and see how he develops.
Elliott not back until Feb earliest

Still don't see the point in a stop-gap for a month or two who will be on big wages. If we had the money for those wages, would rather spend on a Mane/Salah backup which is more critical in January.
I don't disagree. Was just resetting your expectations for Harvey is all.

Yeah, Morton is the only one that can change the calculation - just a few weeks ago Gini for half a season on loan seemed like a godsend, but now… I’m kind of on the fence, having Gini back would make me much less worried about injuries in midfield. But I do want more minutes for Morton as well and he is developing and maturing faster than I could imagine.

Probably a moot point as @Woland is probably right about Newcastle snapping him up. They will be much more desperate than us.

Going back for a player never worked for Klopp at Dortmund (Götze, Sahin, Kagawa), can't imagine it to work here either

I only was talking 6 months... nothing long term, just squad depth. Morton seems great but weve seen how eager klopp is to play youngsters during injury crisis (think how long it took to use Rhys and nalidini ...)

He can play be part of the squad ... he knows everything, and will want to contribute to win more ... He loves the team ...
As long as we don't have to pay most of the salary, I think it's a win win for us.
Unless we have another injury crisis it's far from win/win. We are playing more attacking adventurous football and he would stymy the chances of Elliot, Jones & Morton without making a significant improvement to the team (he won't get in ahead of Keita anyway as he suits the way we are playing better than Gini). I was fine with him here, I was fine with him going, I don't want him back.

Let Thiago get injured again and all of you haters will be crying for Gini to come back. Wasn't it just a few weeks ago people were talking about how we missed him?

Yeah as much as I like Morton, I wouldn't want him anywhere near the starting team against City away. Call me crazy but I'd rather have Gini on the pitch.

Nope. Only the Thiago haters were pining after him !

I'd rather have Morton. Fabs, Thiago and Morton is a damn good midfield even though Morton is still a baby - and he tackles (and loves to tackle he says) way more than Gini ever did (Gini isn't a tackler, he's a possession retainer, which is why I guess it's not working out at PSG - he brings little to the attack and they have all the possession they need).
