Asians are quick learners, good at maths and work hard. Maybe one of those lads on the wing?
"we've just bought a new left back, ri te wing"

"A new left back and right winger?"

"No, ri te wing, a left back"

"Oh okay. So he can play both positions"

The Guardian are saying Rafa wants Lucas !

Offer them 35m plus Lucas.

The Echo are reporting straight cash, no other players involved.

Only Lucas is capable of making the excitement of a quality new player arriving seem disappointing.

Our dreams have been crushed, once again.

The way the article threw in the Lucas deal made it sound separate.

So going by the Joe Allen scale, noting how he's the best tackler in the world and all - we must be getting at least 15m back from Newcastle

I'm like a confused, beaten dog. I know I'll get hit with a stick, but I still expect a delicious doggy treat.

We should send them the Morse multi forum player of the year results.

OK, let's trawl back through the Forums to see who said we should sign Wijnaldum first and how great he is.

Cloggy is excluded for being a bit Dutch anyway, and that's an unfair advantage.

I probably said we should have signed him as soon as it was announced that Newcastle had. Not because I'd ever seen him, or knew much about him, but because that's what I say about almost everyone we don't sign.

I can only claim to have put him in my FF team

Reds eye £8m Dutch starlet
5th Apr 2010 - Media Watch

Speculation is rife that Liverpool are considering making a move for highly rated Feyenoord winger Georginio Wijnaldum this summer.

The teenage wide man has been a player the Anfield outfit has been monitoring for the best part of 18 months and recent comments from the youngster suggest that he has more than a passing interest in a move to Merseyside.

Dirk Kuyt is my role model. He left Feyenoord when he was the best, I am not that far

So, this is all dead exciting and all that.

Where's he going to play? I saw that quote from Benitez,a nd he didn't seem to know either.

I'm sure he was Feyenoord's youngest ever player at one point. Regular there at 16.

Probably better for him that we didn't buy him then really. He'd still be a starlet out on loan.

To be honest, this guy feels like a Kuyt-ish signing (with a bit more power/pace). There seems nothing extraordinary about him technically, but he seems to be in the right positions to score and he'll probably have a knack of scoring/contributing in the big games too, like Dirk did.

I don't agree. I wish I did, because if he had Kuyt's consistency, workrate and diligence defensively, he'd be worth £50m.

He's much, much quicker, but I do recall watching him thinking he was great when things are all going well (hence his goals coming in "lumps"), but didn't seem to do anything defensively, and his head certainly dropped when things started to unravel. Which is why Benitez dropped him.

He's actually the exact opposite of Kuyt in many ways.

Surely the point of a midfield three since he is a bit of a B2B player but with more attacking intent.

......................................Karius

Clyne .............. Matip ................ Lovren/Sakho .... Anyone bar Moreno

............................... Can .............. Milner

............................... Wijnaldum (Grujic)

Mane ........................ Sturridge .......... Coutinho
(Firmino / Lallana)......(Origi/Ings) ... (Firmino / Origi)

I'm really not sure at all where Henderson fits into the team now. Maybe ahead of Grujic if he can overcome his foot injuries.

Let's hope he's more in the Terry McDermott, Alan Kennedy, Dietmar Hamann and Peter Beardsley ex-Geordie camp, rather than Andy Carroll and Jose Enrique

Jose Enrique wasn't that bad. He should be the middle ground* camp than they Andy Carroll Camp

* before he decided money was more important than playing football.
