A song for the new lad.
(To Genie in a Bottle by Christina Aguilera)

If you want to see some speed /
Baby come and hear us sing /
He is Gini at full throttle /
Watch him run down the right wing

Fucking Boom.

Seriously???? tut tut tut.....

Try this out, to the tune of Delilah

Why, why, why Wijnaldum.
Fly, fly, fly Wijnaldum.
Klopp could see this boy was for LFC
Now he's our new number 5 for Kopites to see.

Why, why, why Wijnaldum.
Try, try, try Wijnaldum.
So, just score and hear the Anfield roar.
Forgive us Wijnaldum we want you to score even more.

When net spend bites hard
And ambitions are low
And your midfield can't score
And is ve-ry fucking slow

Then George, George Wij-naaaaaa-aaaaal dum, a dum
George, George Wij-naaaaaaaa-aaaaaaaal dum, a dum

Joy Division
Love Will Tear Us Apart

Purely because I was listening to it on the way in to work this morning:

She's a germ free Wijnaldum
Cleanliness is Wijnaldum
Cleans her teeth ten times a day
scrub away, scrub away, scrub away,
the Liverpool Way

Now that's as bad as it gets, doesn't even scan

Man I can't believe I didn't get more love for the line "Gini at full throttle" - given that he's in a Klopp team etc.

I'm wasted on you Philistines.

Seen this guy a few times. Strong and quick, has that composure to hold onto the ball and release them intelligently. And he does that in the attacking half, not like the majority of our other midfielders. Certainly an upgrade on Ibe.

My only worry is how a player of his talents could go down with Newcastle. I think he just didn't give a shit back then.

It didn't help that Newcastle had an incredible season for injuries. We had by far the second most (ca. 289 player match days lost) over United by 40+ but Newcastle lost about a 100 days more than us. That not only rips the team apart but has to be soul destroying.
