Fulham v Liverpool Match Thread

Salah needs to stop being greedy, it's not about how many goals he scores it's about the team and he's letting his team mates down too often by being selfish. We got away with that in the end.
On their goal it starts with a bad touch by Milner then Van Dijk is too soft with his header but the Goalie takes most of the blame from me by not going with his hands and trying to get the ball with his feet. I thought Alisson was a bit of a shithouse there to be honest.
3 points though and that's all that really matters.

Felt there was a bit of complacency today.

As for Salah, he's been playing well of late even if he hasn't been scoring. Today he didn't have a good game. He wasn't alone but selfishness when you're not playing well isn't a good look.

I agree, he was selfish at times, but, & this is key, & I keep saying it, a striker MUST be selfish in order to score to get out of a slump.

TBH he's often selfish, he doesn't pass at times when a player is clearly on & then misses, but when he's scoring almost every match no one cares, it's just highlighted when he's stopped scoring.

He's gonna have to keep being selfish so he can get a goal which is the only way he'll get the confidence back.

100% Allison for me. Could have used his hands but waited for the ball to drop and used his feet.

Yep, BUT, most importantly, a few minutes later an almost carbon copy dropped & he jumped & grabbed it.

He doesn't get knocked down by these fuck ups, our first keeper since Reina who doesn't fall to bits after making a mistake, which they all do at times.

People keep saying he is selfish...but look at those positions...he is surrounded by defenders so when can he make the required passes to a team-mate ?. Half the time he has defenders all around him, so these mythical passes that he could make to team mates is a load of bollox. Also if he thinks he can score from a position then he is entitled to do so even in situations where others may be better place...but today those situations were few.

I get the whole thing about strikers being selfish yada yada yada but not sure I quite agree with that.

Do what you gotta do to get out your own personal slump but when the game is on the line, you have to put the team first. And you need to pick your moments because every missed chance just makes it all worse.

In the last 10 mins where he he turned and tried to curl a shot in... that wasn't a strikers playing on instinct, that was vain hope and desperation.

Squeaky bum time.
I thought we were comfortable the entire match, without being too threatening. It's a shame about Alisson, he is such a great keeper and does pretty much everything well, but he has got too many howlers in him that he needs to iron out. Thankfully, that should be easier to iron out than to make someone like mingolet any good.
Mane getting us out of the shit again and looking our best attacking player. Salah and bobby looking zero threat again, lallana back to his usual lack of productivity, and trent looking really hit and miss. Really not sure if we need to look at serious competition for him, he's a great talent, and he can do some great things (as once or twice he did today) but he's not really kicking on to the next level for me.

Yep, agree there were two or three times today that he should have passed, & that was one of them.

It doesnt excuse everything by any means, just trying to explain why he does actually need to be greedy to get himself out of this goal drought.

50 % VVD and 50% Allison fault.

Allison came out, he didn't have to but he did. I thought he should have come out to meet the admittedly weak header but instead he rooted himself Babbel then did whatever any player would do. VVD misjudged his header but apart from that VVD was flawlessly good. By the way who played next to VVD? I didn't notice Matip much this game.

He needs a fucking slap.

No @Oncy - never says the name ... Modo would have been direct...
'Henderson is a pussy'
and thats when everyone is talking about an opposition player.
