[article]Borussia Dortmund fans all over the world have launched a massive social media campaign urging the club to bring back Shinji Kagawa from Manchester United.

The campaign, which has adopted the #FreeShinji hashtag on twitter, has been trending all morning in Germany in anticipation of a global, online flash mob set for 19:09 Central European Time (10:09am ET for U.S. readers), which of course is an honor to Dortmund’s founding in 1909. The hashtag has been trending in Manchester as well.

Kagawa, who has been unsuccessful in carving out a regular first team place with the Premier League champions (22 starts in all competitions last season), has been linked with a return to Dortmund all summer long. Jurgen Klopp had even confirmed he’s spoken with his former star pupil about a return to Dortmund, though he conceded it wasn’t going to happen as Kagawa eagerly wants to “prove himself” at United.

Still, fans of the electric winger, who was so integral to Dortmund’s back-to-back Bundesliga titles in 2011 and 2012, are fed up with how little Manchester United have used him. Kagawa has not featured in United’s opening two matches this season, and Dortmund fans clearly have noticed[/article]

One can only hope to look forward to the #freeShawcross campaign at United next season.

Klopp told the Guardian: 'Shinji Kagawa is one of the best players in the world and he now plays 20 minutes at Manchester United - on the left wing!
'My heart breaks. Really, I have tears in my eyes.
'Central midfield is Shinji's best role. He's an offensive midfielder with one of the best noses for goal I ever saw.

I had him on my fantasy football team but took him out when a manc fan in work told me that he mightn't get much playing time.

I think he is a beautiful player.

Id offer £8m to see what happens, at the very least it would make interesting headlines. Also, it may cause turbulence in their dressing room.

Bidding for Kagawa is just a waste of time. United wouldn't even consider it for a moment.

Yep complete waste.
I'd cyberwank this place to fuck if we did sign him.
He's perfect for us.

We didn't have much of a chance when he was at Dortmund and even less of a chance now that he's at united.

He reminds me of Ozil in ways with his ability to play between the lines.

[article=http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/335391/Shinji-Kagawa-s-agent-talks-Manchester-United-departure-after-Dortmund-fan-campaign]Agent Thomas Kroth has revealed Kagwa will not be leaving the club and is planning to fight for his place."Shinji will currently not be leaving Manchester United. He wants to fight for his place," he said.

"Because of the Confederations Cup, he did not have a full pre-season and therefore still has a training deficit. That's why he, until now, has won hardly any playing time."

"Atletico made an enquiry, although this was never an issue for Shinji."[/article]
