we have not had since m.owen left and fowlers short lived return. i'm stumped to name many who can score 20 plus per season, bent comes to mind, who are the others.

A few years back we had Torres and Gerrard hitting double figures, Kuyt contributing and it still wasn't enough.
Now Kuyt's goals have dried up, we haven't replaced Torres' goals really and Gerrard isn't going to be hitting 15-20 goals a season any more.
We need a few goal scorers in the team. Suarez is one. Gerrard will still get a few. We need to replace Torres' and Kuyts goals as well as getting more from others.

How about giving young Morgan a chance. Sure he couldn't do any worse than the current crop of "strikers"

Maybe he needs change of scenery with the big boys to get him going. How are any of these young lads gonna progress if they don't get a chance?

scoring is a problem accross our whole team ...surely we need more than just one striker to sort our problems.

I do think, on form, he'd benefit from the last 15 minutes in a game like today's, but he's getting fantastic guidance under Borrell. That man is an absolute gem and I hope we hang on to him for as long as possible.

None of them are really a fox in the box though, were they. Torres might have come close at times.
I don't know if it's a fox in the box but I'd pretty much guarantee that if we'd had an Owen, Fowler...... even someone like Defoe then we'd have a heap more points than currently. Carroll and Kuyt haven't been justifying their place in the team at all; having a natural predator there instead would have capitalized in an environment that has as many chances as pretty much any team in the league.
On a side note, I can't believe how quickly Gerrards goal scoring fell away; the reasons I have no problem with but the speed at which it's happened has stunned me.
