Fabio Borini

Its weird when you look at the two on paper. what has Borini done to deserve you being more excited about him than a proven EPL finisher?

Why did Chelsea not want him and why has no other top club come in for him.

You are being harsh on Dempsey there fella, on paper he is a better prospect to do well for us

Is it because borini has a more glamourous name 😉
Chelsea did want him, he just wanted games, which he wouldn't get with drogba, torres, Sturridge and smells ahead of him

Hopefully Dempsey can be Sherringham esque for us. Good signing, unfashionable but a goood player who'll get shit done.
Only beef I've got with that statement is that Sheringham was a top player thoughout his career whereas Demspey for all his workmanship and hard-as-nails-attitude never has been.

If there is any truth in all this would Rodgers buy him as a striker, winger or as a midfielder? Not that it matters really as he'd be in the wrong no matter what if he were to splash £9M on him. Just curious to know what posters on here who wants him think of him when looking at our team.

can we not sell carroll for 15 , add 5 to it and buy a 20m forward . Who could you get for 20m ? surely there's some decent forwards for that amount. higuain , he'll do !

Liverpool have agreed a fee with Roma for striker Fabio Borini and the player has arrived on Merseyside to undergo a medical and discuss personal terms, according to the Press Association.

Plan B is our new number 12.

Hope not.

Wait a minute. For season upon season we've moaned about not picking up new up and coming players before their star rises and their price becomes prohibitive. Now we're paying £10m for a player who was regarded as one of the few bright sparks for Roma last season and whose goals per minutes on the pitch ratio was only bettered by Ibrahimovic and Di Natale. There's just no satisfying some people. Then again, it seems some just have to have something to moan about.

Good News For Those That Like Bad News

This is great. Maybe Rodgers was spot on with his "exciting signing" allusion.

It seems everyone has a really good feeling about this lad and the Chelsea/Roma/Swansea fans reactions are the cherry on top.

Borini is a good prospect and there is plenty to look forward to potentially but a guy who has been bouncing about on loan for the last couple seasons isn't an edge of your seat signing really. Not for Liverpool.

Personally I am very excited with this signing. Very promising news.

I will allow my self to be very happy about it and keep my fingers crossed Rodgers isn't out to ruin my day splashing £9M on a 29-year-old Dempsey that goes around and headbutts our current members of the squad.

He's only 20 Keni. He was unlikely to break into the Chelsea team at 18/19 with Drogba/Torres ahead of him.

I do wonder why Parma loaned him immediately to Roma - maybe a shrewd way to increase his value for a club in financial trouble?

Italian football seems on the rise in general so us getting our hands on one of the main young goalscorers from last Seasons Serie A for a very reasonable fee too, seems pretty sound.

The fact the manager knows him well just paves the way for even more confidence that this is indeed a very good signing for us. Fair and square.

Yeah, I meant his drive and attitude, not his personality. I've never seen him play, but I like what I see on youtube.

To the tune of D.I.S.C.O by Ottawan

I've go absolutely no complaints about this signing. It's the sort of one I wish we would do more of.

(Providing he's good)

The last time we had such universal agreement on a transfer was Suarez, let's hope he turns turns out to be just as much of a success.
