Fabio Borini

It's funny how the hacks inflate each deal so as to prepare for another 'mammoth LFC spending' story someway down the line. According to today's papers Borini cost £11.5m, £12m or even £14m.

They often include the total cost of the wages over the contract & get round it by saying '20m deal' instead of '16m fee'. This was most noticeable in the Henderson buy last year.

Obviously if it's an 'estimate' then they slant it dependant on the slant of their article.

I don't respect any print media in this country any more.

i really don't fucking get why everyone is so made up with this guy. he looks completely average and will no doubt end up being our 'star' signing for the summer.

Decent pace, not afraid to have a go. Rodgers has talked up his physical condition so I was a bit surprised when, at one point in that vid, Borini tried to shoulder-charge Spector and basically bounced off him, but he's still young and we'll build him up.

Bumped cus he's your first signing 🙂

And since were here.

Put a rumour too bed I heard in a shop earlier..

It involved...

Berbaov and andy carroll "deals" to the same team.. didnt catch much of it, but one guy said "they would take berbatov or andy carroll"

This lads first action has impressed me. Cut short his preseason so he can get right into the fold without prompting from his manager, seems to want to really succeed here. Ireckon he could turn into a fan favourite. Now if an another of our strikers had considered this in his first preseason then maybe he wouldn't be in the predicament he finds himself in now.

The agent of Fabio Borini seems unconcerned that his move to Liverpool could jeopardise his place in the Italian national squad.

The forward, capped once by Cesare Prandelli, was taken to Euro 2012 but didn’t feature as the Azzurri reached the Final.

“The national side? Prandelli can have a long weekend in England to watch Borini and [Manchester City’s Mario] Balotelli,” a smiling Marco De Marchi told Sky Sport Italia.

Borini was a revelation in the capital last season, but he’s now yet again teammed up with boss Brendan Rodgers at Anfield.

“He’s known Rodgers since their time together in the Chelsea reserves and then at Swansea,” De Marchi continued.

“It’s like a return to the family. I’d also like to thank Roma who gave him an opportunity to grow in the best possible manner.”

The former Parma player was sold in order to finance a bid for Siena and Genoa co-owned striker Mattia Destro.

I know Sunny but Andy had spent the first 6 months of his liverpool career lookin unfit coming back from injury. Now i maybe mad for thinking this but surely you would want to get fit for the new season and show your dedication to the cause. Having pride about wearin the lpool 9 shirt. Instead we had to watch Andy pissing it up the wall in glasto, Ibiza and the carribean.

If that was me i would want to.prove the doubters wrong and get into the new season the fittest i'd ever been. Now look at the Italian kid. Right in i want to cut short my holodays and get right into it. Massive difference in attitude.

Exactly, it's very unlikely that I'd ever cut my holiday short for my work, or should I, but when you're at the top of your profession like Andy is, it's the kind of sacrifice you should expect to make to prove you're the best, especially after how he performed last season and the amount he's paid.

I wonder if this is why Brendan mentioned it out loud. As a subtle comparison to Andy?

It doesn't matter. Everyone is entitled to a holiday. Why aren't you having a pop at Steven Gerrard. He missed half of last season injured you'd think he'd want to get fit for the cause. Some if our greatest number nines used to have holidays and drink on them. I can see where you're coming from but I think someone taking their holiday entitlement should not be viewed as a bad thing.

As an example, if you thought you were in with a chance of a promotion in work or you'd just been promoted would you cancel your holiday to impress the new boss?

And remember, I know Liam before you answer yes. 😉😀
