Fa cup pre match thread - Oldham

We should play our strongest team, we have a week until our next fixture. If one fixture a week is too much for the boys we best not qualify for Europe as 2 games will kill them.
17 fit players at Chelsea (and look how that turned out), I take it you'd like to see that reduced to 15 for our next PL match ?

So every game results in an injury?

No, not all games do. It's a probability but not a certainty like what you're implying.

Talk about missing the point ! It's risk assessment. Is a 3rd round match in the FAC worth jeopardising a Top 4 position for ? Some of you obviously think it is. Personally I'd want to keep our top players fit and raring to go in the PL rather than even just risk a season (theirs and LFC's) ending injury.

I certainly am not missing the point, what you said about risk assessment is exactly what I said.

The way you're posting suggests an injury will happen, as in a certainty, and it's not worth playing our top players for it.

*bangs head against wall and screams*

Okay, bad news about tv coverage.

@LiverpoolRSA Hi. Unfortunately this match has not been made available to us by the suppliers, despite our efforts to secure it.

@LiverpoolRSA It was the decision of the FA, not ours. We have requested the match and if anything changes we will advise accordingly.

Basically there seems to be not enough in the way of cameras at the ground to provide live coverage, the coverage will be shit then edited to make it look decent, but there isn't the 32 plus cameras there today needed to provide normal live coverage.

There is another LFC site that runs their own streams & they'll have it apparently (one of the lads on there is the one who told me how to get live feeds so assume that's how he's getting it) but I'm no longer a member of their streaming service sadly.

If any of you are then you're the lucky ones!

Aaahhhh the endearing charm of the FA Cup.

We get to go all retro & have to listen to commentary on the radio.

Tv2 over here tried to get the Newcastle - Cardiff game live as it was Solskjaers debut.
They were told it wasnt possible as the games were already chosen:

Rochdale - Leeds

Grimsby - Huddersfield

Yeovil - Leyton Orient

That were the 3 live games at 15 KO...

What's wrong with the beeb these days? This is the sort of game they would have put on in past years.

And they wonder why, in this age of instant gratification and technology, why the FAC is losing it's attraction to the average fan.

Broadcast rights are owned by ITV and BT Sport. 3rd round matches being broadcasted live:

BT
Blackburn Rovers v Manchester City
Derby County v Chelsea (14:15 today)
Manchester United v Swansea City (16:30 today)

ITV
Arsenal v Tottenham Hotspur
Nottingham Forest v West Ham United (12:00 today)

Apparently c5 are talking to all parties (fa, both clubs, itv & BT) to try to get the game, but I doubt anything will come of it cos I can't see itv & BT allowing it.

Fox, beIN (Al Jazeera), c5 & supersport have all been refused rights by the FA.

Not much chance at all of this happening it seems.

Live feed by some miracle or radio is the only option.

Bring your spy satellite into position.

Hahaha. Brings back memories of huddling over an old radio listening to the commentary before this age of barrage of matches on tv. Is there a site where radio commentary might stream it? On the Bbc?

Suarez needs to be rested. I don't care who else plays.

It will be really daft if we play Suarez, especially after the kicking he has received in the last two games.

They generally use microwave net from Anfield (cheaper) so I doubt they'll be a satellite feed if it's not going outside UK.

I didn't know that!

Good to know.

Are you on SAF through ST mate?

Their Oldham thread says they'll show it so be interested to know how.

Nope, I don't bother with streams.

I've got a multi-feed sat dish (28/23.5/19.2/13/9/4.8/-1) and so catch whatever is broadcast. There are very occassional feeds on 9E. I'm not expecting to watch this one.

Most of the live feeds yesterday were on 24.5w, I can get a low signal on some some channels but no feeds yesterday so even if there is one I doubt I'll get it.

Satelliweb has the live feeds details up quite quickly usually, you may have better luck than me.

Wow - pretty strong team ... I would have given one of our younger FBs a run out but it looks like Rodgers want to win this early and then bring 'em on
