Exeter v Liverpool match thread

Initially yeah but as the years have gone on I can honestly say I prefer lower league football to Premier League. The Exeter lads probably earn about £40,000-£50,000 per YEAR; there's very few arseholes, everybody makes a huge effort in every game and there are far fewer SKY TV cameras, agents, glory-hunting fans etc.

But they have a guy with a drum. That surely undoes a lot of the good stuff going for them.

Lefty is confusing me. He seems to have gone a bit hard on the ol' klopp criticism since he joined us
I haven't mate. I've expressed my belief and undying love etc in other threads. I just think it's ok to criticise objectively. Jurgen won't find out and he'll still love us all.

I've seen you saying about your love for klopp, But you seem to be taking the objectivity to lawrenson levels. Just peculiar

I'm with Vlad and Pete on this, I don't get the hysterics. Alot of these reserve lads struggle when they go on loan to lower league, such is the quality. Pitching 8 kids at professional level and enjoying good possession and getting a result can only be a plus. Branding it some kind of disgrace sounds like the sort of perspective lacking crap that the hacks come out with. "Exeter give the mighty Liverpool a game". Err.... no. League side get a draw against an u21 side. Call the cops.

Is it? I find it peculiar that elements of our fan base can demand the sacking of a guy for failing to win silverware and then accept the mediocrity of a draw with Exeter, even given all of those mitigating circumstances about the pitch and kids etc. Where I do struggle is in sometimes understanding the mentality of the premier league age football fan. But hey, maybe that says more about me than anyone else.

I watch these players a lot, much more so than many on here, so you carry on finding excuses and over-indulging them if you wish. Some posts sound like reviews of the school nativity play.
We could have done with three wise men to steady the ship. The shepherds did what was asked of them .... but the inn keeper - OMG 'can we come in?' 'Yes, be my guest'

I don't think under the present circumstances Klopp gives a fuck about the FA cup this year at least and quite rightly.
We are well placed to get to the final of one domestic cup. We still have a chance of 4th place and can progress in the Europa cup.
Ergo we have many games ahead a squad that lacks depth and an a massive injury crisis - one of the worst I have known claiming key players - then we are expected to embark on yet another competition playing on not much better than a ploughed field .
I for one would not have lost any sleep if we did go out last night and would not give a fuck what Twitter thought

I think most people can appreciate we've been unlucky with injuries, and we had a piss weak squad when he took over. It's weird how you're having a go at fans willing to give klopp and the players time, then having a go at fans for previously wanting rid

If it was 3 years down the line, and numerous transfer windows, I think most people would echo your view. But it's not. We're 6 days in to a transfer window (where we've signed 2 players), and 2 months in to his tenure.

Well you say potato and I say potato.

You can say.
He looked good. I was kind of hoping Sinclair wouldn't play well as I've got it in my mind he's a bit of a cunt and is getting off - so I'm glad he faded [emoji48]. He certainly didn't look the pick of the bunch

Vlad - he (Sinclair) actually came across as a Cunt after scoring anyway - like "Yeah I'm on the big time ticket to ... Arsenal". Not that great in anyway and if he does go - good luck. Ojo made the difference when he came on - definitely, only worry is that the rest of the PL will have seen that, and if he starts the next game and plays like that again then he will definitely be noticed as a worthy investment for any of the other top clubs.

Yeah, there's plenty of sides have come unstuck against lower league opposition playing in a ploughed field with their senior players. We drew with a necessarily patched together side of whom only one can claim to be a first teamer. Should we have risked Milner, Lucas et al given the games we have coming, and the extraordinary lack of squad depth due to injuries? I think we've done OK to get the replay, where hopefully we can season the team with a little more experience, whilst still giving some of the younglings a chance to shine.

Before the match, someone on BBC Radio 5 Live - may have been Danny Murphy - said that Liverpool Reserves have more experience of playing crap teams in crappy stadiums than the first team have. There may have been something in that.

Hodgson-esque. It baffles me that some cant understand that you have to rest players after that amount of games in such a short period of time. Add 12 players to the injury list and its a given.
Yet its the modern football fans views etc.

You'd think it was the other way around. Those thinking it was possible to field a different team live in some Football manager gaming world.
Without the injuries Klopp would have fielded another team. Get over it.
Its not the end of the World.

I dont think predictive text can BE broken!?
If you've switched to a good keyboard (everyone should, esp now apple finally allows people to switch too) like SwiftKey, then you can add in whatever words you choose, which could fuck it up if you somehow added stupid words.

Otherwise it's not really possible.
