Post Match Everton (H) 1-0 - April 2nd

when even duncan ferguson says it's a red, you HAVE to ask what the fuck is wrong with Tierney?
do you hate liverpool, or were drunk, or high or just fucking shit at your job?
At the time I thought they would leave it as yellow, the slow made the force look less than it was. It’s bullshit but I wasn’t shocked.

How can you be shit for the offside goal? It was offside cause the defensive line worked.
How many times does it have to be spelled out that an offside goal isnt a chance. Its offside.
Virgil didn’t know that and threw his hands up in the air when the ball hit the net. He knew he fucked up. He usually never gets beaten like that. Beto had his number.

Did I ever tell you all about how Duncan Ferguson fucking hates me and he was coming looking for me but by chance when he was in his rage I was luckily in the Caribbean? Anyway I can't really get into the depths of it, just he used to play football with my brother in law and I fell out with him, next thing Big Dunc was going to kill me. I don't think I'd ever want to bump into him because he would tear my head off. I'm not a very fighty person.

Nah, I’ve watched it again. He played it like he knew it was offside and they had control.
This is the issue with the «heavy flags» and VAR. Situations look like a mess when we have dealt with it at the time the ball was played.

Konaté and van Dijk were rubbish last night. Beto has to be one of the worst players in the league and they managed to make him look Teddy Sheringham.

Not for the first time either.

Virg was uncharacteristally dodgy in the moments we can all recall, but he still cut out a fair bit and won his fair share in the air.

Looked like it was Sakho partnering him out there, Ibou's passing was a mess and put us under unnecessary pressure.

That's harsh on beto. Moyes has got a tune out of him and he's at the very worst a handful

And how many Mane's are there in the world? We would be very very lucky to find another one like him so although we can talk about him as the epitome of what a LW should look like it's unrealistic to compare all of our LWs and say they are not good enough because they are not as good as Mane.
Let's drop Mane from the conversation, Diaz is nowhere close to his level. Will you even play him ahead of Gaks if both are fit though.

You can't be serious. That was a close call, there's no way he'd just stop playing. If he did that'd be an even bigger problem than the subsequent defending!

It looked like a close call because VAR spent more time on that then the Macca one. Thats Tierney for you.
But in reality it wasnt very close. It was quite easy to see that it was offside from the start.

If anything that was Konate's man and he let him go. And that was the right call as we had control in regards to the line.

Anyway, it doesnt matter. It was offside and we won.

I understand but we shouldn't pretend he is Mane with our words then.
He had a good game? 100% yes.
He was our most dangerous attacking player? 100% yes.
He had a ton of the ball and had very little end product? yes.
This is the norm for him ... he should be getting 10-15 goals in the league easy.
His production in the league (4 in 13, 4 in 17, 8 in 37, 9 in 29) isn't all that - and Barca want him? If they offer us 70+, would you not take it?
Oh course I would, even 50+. But I don't see anyone here saying he's Mane either.

And let's not forget that we are the top scorers in the PL by 15 goals more than Arsenal and 13 more than City (2nd) - it's not even close! People tend to forget that and want perfection, and as much as an even more potent forward line would be great let's not forget where we are.

Yeah I don't know why people use Mane as the benchmark - as if there are multiple Mane's around.

I've made it clear that Gakpo before that would be my first choice but there are games where Diaz may be preferred - any game where we may not be dominating possession for example because Diaz tracks back better and give heart and soul out there. It's good we have both and we need to keep that strength (with whatever squad we have) next season as it covers injuries and fatigue nicely.

Virge has such a level of gravitas, and communication. It's super impressive - never mind his footballing ability. Especially for a fella who grew up without his father. Respect.
I don't overly see the relevancy of this. Countless men with present fathers are inarticulate, incoherent cowards.

He is extremely intelligent and articulate. But he and Konate were fucking shite in the first half last night.

They were both terrible and got bullied by Beto of all people.

That said, I wasn't a massive fan of how we were set up given the success Everton were having on the counter. I would've liked to see Slot change things rather than hope / rely the centre backs stop fucking up.

For sure, but the absence or rejection by one parent can be a massive set back for kids, especially boys and fathers.

But I digress, Himself and Konate looked rusty for sure.

Very much so. Before stepping down about 18 months ago I spent a dozen years on the governing board of a school for young people up to 19 years old (of either sex, but the intake was predominantly boys/young men) with severe emotional and behavioural problems that mainstream schools couldn't (or wouldn't) cope with, and sadly it was almost a surprise when one turned up whose dad was a regular part of his life.

That said, Virgil certainly wasn't his usual self at times last night, and the game may well have been the worst one I've seen Ibou play for us.

Hmmm... oddly, I had Ibou as my 4th or 5th pick for MOTM. Strange to see so many people saying he had a bad game.
I must have been mistaken.

Ibou wasn't terrible, just he and virg looked off it. Considering Everton posed little threat, it's telling they were iffy for the few chances (offside or not)

People go on about him as if he's a great player - he's a really good player but that's about it, and he lacks the consistent killer instinct - be it as a finisher or passer. As for our goal scoring figures - that very much has to do with Salah's unreal few months.

I don't want perfection, nor do I expect it but I would like to see a front line doing what Bobby, Mane and Salah did for a few years ... That's not perfection, MSN or BBC probably is.

That’s wild. Fucking hell!
