Post Match Everton (H) 1-0 - April 2nd

I like Diaz effort but, to be fair, you could leave him to run round on his own all game and he wouldn't score. Same for Nunez.

Jota is quality but isn't prolific enough for a top team. I like Gakpo, he's obvs on the way back.

Chiesa? Salah? Salah great stats but, I mean, who enjoys watching that? I could have played that position tonight.
Why is Gakpo such a cucking pussy for such a big guy ?

Great second half.

Thought they should have had two sent off.

Curtis was great although I wish he hugged the touch line a little more as a FB when we were in possession. He was a little central and advanced a number time showing his head was more inside CM than RB.

Shame the ref blew his whistle before Nunez got clattered. Would have been a peno. lol at Nunez getting told to role back onto the pitch to stop the game continuing only to be booked for it. 🤣.

Diaz I thought was superb, I really don’t get the hatred. He was on his own for so much.

Virgil was awful. Is he leaving?

Kelleher was poor too I thought, the offside goal esp.

Ultimately a huge huge derby win going down the stretch and a confidence filled Jota is exactly what we need.

Hopefully, there'll be rapid developments in science by summer so we could simply transplant Jota's brain into a new body. Could start by assessing Darwin's body for compatibility since that's obviously missing a brain.

No its not, our performances have been shockingly poor, and Slot has shown that he has made mistakes in his lineups in the last 6 weeks or so. I cannot see us playing this poorly against teams like Chelsea and Brighton away and go onto win. Also add Fullham to that list.
Chelsea, Brighton and Fulham, dear lord. There's such a defeatist dullard attitude on this site, not just by you but what feels like a majority.

Could someone brief the miserable old cunt on how the offside rule actually works.

Then he has the audacity to defend that assault by Tarkowski, a leg breaker......fucking coward.

FFS, mate…. We’ve won 7 of our last 9, and drawn the other 2. We’ve beaten city, the blueshite and Newcastle in the past few league matches, and we’re 20+ points ahead of all those teams you’ve listed. What exactly are you so fucking afraid of?!?!

On paper we should beat them, actually fuck those teams up, but we won't. It will be 50-50. After years of watching us play, I have come to realize that us being at our very best is different to when the likes of ManU, Chelsea, City are at their best. You know why ? Coz every cunt team that plays us puts on the best performance of their lives, they never come onto the pitch and just bend over like they been doing for City. I often wondered why that happens to LFC, and there are 3 underlying reasons:

1) We actually have more historic rivals domestically than any other top team in this league because of our exploits in 70s and 80s.

2) We as a fanbase know we dont sign the very top top players but we do sign those that show effort / committment etc...this gives hope to players in other mid to low postuon teams in the league that maybe if they impress against us we may just sign the annoying cunt next season.

3) We are a historic team with European pedigree of high reputation, opposition players want to be seen to be playing very well against us.

You see, JUST FUCKING ONCE I want to see a team roll over like pussies and give us an easy game. Can I expect that against Fullham next game ? Nah, of course not, Adama will be oiled up to resume his battles with VVD (terrible game tonight), and Robinson will want to prove he is worthy of us and not Kerkez, and add some other cunts in that list.

A bit of a laboured performance tonight, but 3 points is all that matters.
Tarkowski should have been sent off, it was a Red card all day long.
I was confused by the Nunez booking. If the whistle had already gone for the foul on Szobo, then play finishes. Which is why we didn’t get a Pen and why Pickford wasn’t booked. Yet a player injured in an altercation after the whistle, is booked for rolling back onto the pitch! Why was he off the pitch in the 1st place? It is ridiculous.

Yeah that Nunez booking was weird, also did anyone laugh when in fact it was Mac10 who dragged Nunez back onto the pitch almost as if to say 'for fucks sake get on the pitch...'

Happy to admit I was wrong about Jones over quansah. He was sensible in possession and generally looked comfortable in an unfamiliar role.

Jota gave 50 minutes of the worst performance I'd seen...then scored.

Diaz I don't get the OTT praise for. Industrious, worked hard to keep possession...then tried to do too much causing attacks to break down. Perhaps I expect too much.

Getting increasingly more frustrated with szob. Offered so little.

Salah may as well have extended Ramadan, as he was still lacking energy and drive

That was not a good performance. Thrilled by the 3 points, but that wasn't a good performance

Diaz was my MOTM.

He’d also be my top pick for “Player who pissed my off the most” by trying to dribble it past too many people or holding on to it when he had a good opportunity to offload.

That’s just him.

This is the Diaz we have been used to seeing for the last 4 seasons isn't it? He's always been consistently amongst the top 5 in people's minds in terms of performance but when it's clutch time it is always someone else, aka Jota who was shit most of the game but came up with the game winning goal.

We have all seen Gak come in this season and straight away the difference is starking. Gak doesn't touch the ball as much, doesn't runs with the ball as much, his play is more predictable but he will give us more end product than Diaz ever will.

In an ideal world I will want a Diaz with an end product, but he is never going to be that player.

Enough to ensure a decent price in the summer. Unlike...you know who

A few points here

I've been slagging Robbo off for a while. Not for work rate, just because he hasn't had the pace or the guile and that's come with age, but he was great tonight

I won us the game because I backed Everton to win 1-0. That jinxed that result. Then as soon as we scored i backed us to draw, jinxing that really too. I actually think you should send me the money because I guaranteed the win at that point.

Finally, Mac. I know he does some really good stuff but every time any side gets a good chance against us just rewind the play ten seconds and he's given the ball away pointlessly. When he does a Trent next year I won't care cos there are better players in that position, one of which was right back tonight.

Don't think Virgil was poor bar the one attempted tackle that he missed. Won everything in the air and organized us to perfection. Everton didnt have a shot on target for 90 mins (the post doesn't count for some reason).

Was thinking that Macca might have been feeling that tackle from Tarkowski in all honesty. He was a good 20 % below his usual passing completion standards.

He was off the pitch because that's where he ended up after being fouled and falling.

Haha it's pretty obvious why 'posts' don't count ! 😉

Time for a Momo reflection on the game once the emotion has died down.

They came out to thug the game. That’s how they started and used all their thug cards after 11 minutes. Once they knew they got away with that one they would’ve been sent off for the next. The ref dropped a bollock and wasn’t helped by Tierney who absolutely despises us. The ref was too inexperienced for a game like this.

The only thing I can say about Kevin is his distribution was off tonight but improved as the game went on. It’s a shame he decided to lie down in the 95th minute when we had a break on with Pickford in our box.

Overall the full backs did well but can we stop the whole inverted bull shit? Against a low block you need to widen the pitch as much as possible. There was a chronic lack of overlaps. Saying that both are quite high in the order of merit list for this game.

First half the centre backs had me kicking an imaginary cat. Second half was much improved and they could push higher and higher as the shite got deeper and deeper.

Gravy had a licence to get forward and it would’ve been justice had his deflected shot gone in rather than straight at Pickford. Easily the best of our midfield especially when the shite got deeper and deeper he became more alive.

Mac seemed to love losing the ball so they could counter. Even at the end he did it and they had a corner 15 seconds later. And putting him on the most dangerous player at corners makes me want to headbut the telly. Slobby just runs around a lot. His passing was way off.

Mo made Mykolenko look like prime Maldini.

Jota. Shocking first half. Even just booting on of their players and giving away a dangerous free kick. Then he scored what feels like a pure Jota goal. A thing of beauty. That’s exactly how you get through a deep back line. Pull players apart then a quick one two. Sublime.

Diaz. Diaz. Diaz. If he could pass he’d be dangerous. He looked up for it and had Harrison and O’Brien on toast. Then the normal lack of end product. Still bagged an assist.

Overall it was an emotional first half and much more controlled second half. The best side won. Still fuming they didn’t have more than one sent off. Even had they been they would’ve been available for Arsenal as red cards don’t kick in for a week to allow for an appeal. Well that used to be the case and can’t find where it’s been changed.

The title procession continues.
