Strange that Barca dont go for a second.
City are capable of getting a result in Barca and Aguero will be back.

And there is the 2nd. LOL

City dont look like they belong at this level. They've got the players so obv a mental thing.

2-0. Tie over.

I wonder if City will go in for Messi this summer.

Although they won tonight, its obvious this Barca team's best days are behind it.

Pelegrinni is a football dinosaur and got found out tactically again.
He's just not a very good coach.

Can you post this when we play them? People get very intimidated around here by him and Mouriniho

Iniesta & Xavi will need replacing at some point. Fabregas is one replacement, so they'll need at least one more top quality midfielder.

Very odd game. Barca seemed to play most of it in second gear and didn't look particularly bothered. Messi in particular spent a lot of time 'conserving energy' shall we say.

Professional? Lazy? Lacking hunger?

Either way, shit for spectators.

Unfortunately for them, he's playing at Bayern.

This season Sergi Roberto is being given a lot of game time so perhaps they are trying to see whether he can step up to the plate in the next year or two.

Yeah, reports of Barca's demise have been exaggerated.

I think BR has ignited my old delusions of Liverpool's aceness though. Throughout the game I was thinking, "we'd do either of these shite".

Top of the league,Spanish cup final and Champions League quarter final.
I'd be taking that demise every day of the week.

Haha, crossed my mind to, even with our ropey defence i think we would of given Barca a sterner test.

Barca are still a great side. They should be even more aggressive and attacking though, but a 2-0 win at the Ethiad is an excellent result.

Pellegrini blaming referee for making up for a mistake against Barca in a group match. Also saying uefa should not have appointed a ref from Sweden

Not have appointed a ref from Sweden, dear oh dear. How about you take some of the blame for playing such a negative tactic and for playing the slowest living person on earth against Messi.

That's interesting. Because Barca were moany that it shouldn't be a ref from Sweden too, prior to the game.

That was unbelievably poor from City. They're no hope of the league if they play like that for the next few weeks. Utter gash - too afraid to go for it until the last 15 minutes where, with 10 players, they outplayed Barca. Second goal may have killed them.

Also, anyone else unable to escape the belief that we'd absolutely murder Barca? They're game plan would absolutely suit our counter attacking game perfectly. I reckon we'd have been about 3 up by half time they way they played - just makes me sick with disappointment that we're not there .......yet.

On our day, we'd murder any team in the world.
On another day, Aston Villa.

What's wrong with refs from Sweden?

Although if the Swedish ref was called Webbsson I would understand.

It concerns me that people think we would murder Barca, when quite clearly the first 15 mins against City they showed, against a better defensive unit bar Di Michaelis that they outplay them.

Both our full back positions would be heavily exposed by their probing and frankly whilst Henderson have played well recently, anyone who thinks that those two are on a par with the silky touches and creativity of Iniesta and Xavi is slightly out of touch.

We'd have given them a game of course, murdered them? Really? I'm not so sure. One thing we can be sure of though, we'd have had an atmosphere that was up to scratch.
