I'm getting genuinely worried that they'll sack him this summer.

You shouldn't, enjoy it for what it is, its all we could have asked for really, hopefully they do keep him but if they don't it won't be easy for them to suddenly sort it out again, plus we should be even better next season.

Well maybe, but I tend to think they'd have done that already if they were going to. It's not like they can salvage anything now.

No, I think he'll make it to the summer. Not so sure he'll get beyond that though.

Credit to Olympiakos they were excellent.
Greek football has always been criminally underrated.
What? They are one of the best sides in the last 10 years and this is their first win ever in the Knockout stages.

Greek football is rubbish in terms of the big European leagues.

They won the league last year by 11 points, and have spent 64M since then.

God knows why they've dropped like they have since then - especially considering Managers don't have a great impact on sides (that's what I've learned on SCM anyway).

It's a mystery it really is.

Ferguson was the exception remember!

What did Keane say?

[article=http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2567954/Premier-League-best-world-Nonsense-Weve-brainwashed-Keane-hits-out.html]‘I don’t think any of us predicted that’, added Keane, who was speaking as a pundit on ITV.

‘We weren't sure about Olympiacos, but give them credit, they were technically better than United

‘There are a number of players who haven't showed enough quality and there is a lack of confidence

‘United need six top quality players with Vidic, Rio, Evra, Giggsy [all going], he needs to rebuild the club.
‘Moyes will be shocked, he would expected good things with this squad, he’ll be shocked by lack of quality he's working with.’

United midfielder Michael Carrick echoed his predecessor's thoughts, saying: 'It's hugely disappointing but we feel like we're still in with a chance going back to Old Trafford.

'Obviously it's not going to be easy. We've lost a game we came here hoping to win and haven't done that. We're not out of tie by all means, but it's not ideal.'

'We had good possession in the first half. We had control of the game without penetrating their line, but at same time they weren't causing us any problems.

'The goals came from nothing, but it obviously puts them in a great position. We didn't start the second half very well. A bit sloppy really.'

Even Carrick's words on ITV irked Keane, who said: ‘That interview was just like their performance – flat,’

When asked what he wanted Carrick to say by Adrian Chiles, an exasperated Keane said: ‘I want him to say something. Say a bit more - a bit more urgency in his interview - it just reflected United's performance tonight - flat, no urgency.

'They keep saying “oh well, next game, next game”, but for some of them there won't be another game. That’s the reality of it.’[/article]

If they fail to turn it round in 2nd Leg, and we do them at Old Trafford in a few weeks..i reckon his fate could be sealed.

*awaits some comedians asking me if i still feel sorry for him*

The transcript of what Keane says doesn't really convey how clearly pissed off he was. The look he gives when he answers Chiles, and then when he looks at Lee Dixon when he finishes talking is priceless. He looks like he wants to rip Chiles' throat out.

And then...

Of his missed chance, Van Persie said: "I rushed that shot. That's a shame because I don't get a lot of chances so when you get one, you have to score."

Oh ffs all they have to do is score 2 at OT then have Gerrard score an unworldly 40 yard screamer at the death..

He's pretty much blown it with some hacks. I gather at the presser yesterday, a few of them found the situation so pathetic they felt sorry for him and gave him some really innocuous questions and he snapped back at them all so sarcastically that quite a few left saying, 'Right, sod him!' He's handling it spectacularly badly, thankfully.
