Yep. McLaughlin's currently away with the NI U21's to Macedonia. Some achievement for a 17 year old. O'Neill should build a team full of pace, it's one of the hardest attributes to play against and although they're still quite young they have the players - Ryan McLaughlin, Danny Lafferty, Rory McKeown, Niall McGinn, Josh Carson, Shane Ferguson. Aaron Hughes, Jonny Evans and Steven Davis are also quite fast, and Kyle Lafferty and Rory Donnelly are no slouches. Obviously, they would need to develop other facets of their game aswell but they can be taught, there's no substitute for pace.

The reason why I don't think this Portugal side will ever be that successful despite the presence of one of the best players in the world is the sheer lack of a decent striker. And perhaps a good holding midfielder too as it's very obvious Meireles doesn't fill out that role very well.

Haha we've got no one else really. We will probably pick another attacking midfielder too and if Bendtner then gets injured we'd play a Barca-like attack in size just without all their talent and any real forwards.

Hence I want Olsen to pick completely unproven at this level striker Simon Makienok who's at least 2m tall and almost just as broad.

Because we've got a very tidy and well assembled team and then Bendtner often scores the gaols needed. We have tried with Pedersen from Groningen and Junker from Roda but none of those are good enough.

Old Rommel and Krohn-Dehli chips in decently from the wings when needed. But it is as you can tell all rather fragile.
