Turkey is pretty much looking to tear Ukraine a new one.

First 3-1 away to Portugal and now another good looking performance. Strange they've not made it to the finals.

I wonder if it is really. They wouldn't be the first team who can only relax and play their best football when the pressure's off.
 
Germany to win the tournament at 14/5.​
Italy to receive a red card in this tournament = yes at 13/10.​
Top goalscorer from Serie A at the Euros = Miroslav Klose at 2/1.​
Top goalscorer for Czech Republic = Milan Baros at 4/1 (wtf? he’s the only one that can score goals for them!)​
Top goalscorer for Poland = Robert Lewandowski at evens.​
Top goalscorer at the Euros = Miroslav Klose at 18/1.
Croatia to be eliminated in the quarter-finals at 57/20.
England to be eliminated in the group stage at 27/20.
France to be eliminated in the semi-finals at 4/1.
Greece to be eliminated in the quarter-finals at 39/20.
Italy to be eliminated in the group stage at 5/4.
Group B to see the most goals scored at 7/4.
To score more goals in the group stages – Italy vs France = France at evens.
To score more goals in the group stages – Sweden vs Denmark = Sweden at 9/10
Will Nicklas Bendtner score in the European Championships = yes at 6/5.
Will Jakub Blaszczykowski score at the European Championships = no at 11/10 (stupid odds – he’s a winger of a hit-and-miss side that are facing a lot of good defensive sides)
Wayne Rooney to score at the European Championships = no at 17/20 (I doubt England will make the quarter-finals, which means Rooney has one game to score in as he’s suspended for two of them)
Will Robbie Keane score at the European Championships = yes at 11/10.​

I watched their game with Portugal and that score wasn't a true reflection. They got 2 goals on the break. Portugal battered them for most of the match and eventually got one back. They even got a pen which Ronaldo missed, then they got a bit disheartened and conceded again in injury time. The score doesn't reveal the whole picture - the story of our season - and I doubt Turkey would have done much in the tournament based on that performance.

Don't fancy most of those John...............The Germany at 14/5 represents no value whatsoever. I know every pundit seems to fanct them but their first 2 games are very tough and they could struggle to even get out of the group; their defence is average, their midfield is decent but not as good as France or Spains and there are better forward lines around too.

Greece probalby won't get out of the group stage, Group B most goals at 7/4 is a very low price for a 4-horse race. The Rooney, Blaszczoksky & Keane bets are all 50/50 IMO so very little value involved in those prices.

Lewandoski is a decent bet for Polish top scorer and Italy red card makes sense as does France to get to the semis (although the price is not great). I'm not getting overly involved with bets at this stage....I will watch every team once before betting on matches/groups.

My only bet is £800 on Poland to win the tournament at 50/1.............my plan is to wait until they come down to 44/1 (or 46/1 at worst) and sell the bet before kick off...........this should give me a free £2,000 bet on the Poles. If their price doesn't change I'm gonna brave-it-out and hope the beat the Greeks tomorrow in which case I can cash-out at about 40/1.

I remember after the last Euros someone asked Bendtner what he thought of them and he said he hadn't watched them as he'd been on holiday with his girl and football didn't really interest him if he wasn't playing.

Which is fair enough I suppose, I wouldn't be arsed watching anyone do my job if I was away on holiday and for some reason it found itself on TV. That's the rational response. The real response I had was 'what a fucking weirdo.'
 
I had the plan of drinking every night for the first 10 days of the euros, but sadly I've been drafted in to work the night shift tomorrow.

Least I'll see the opening game and the first half of the second game.

No booze though

I can't tell you how excited I am to see Ireland play. And to have low expectations too. Dream come true.
 
The build up to this tournament has passed me by.
I remember reading that Paul McShane had made the squad and I just laughed.
Ireland haven't a hope of getting of the group and will take a heavy beating or two along the way.

Germany should win, France as an outside shout.

Haha. That was my first thought, but he's actually Paul Shane without the "Mc". Probably nearly as good at football though.
 
Looking forward to Saturdays games. Denmark v Holland then Germany v Portugal. Go down the pub about 4ish the fall out of the place about 12:30.
