I was wrong, England is a very good team and a favorite to win the tournament.

I don't even support England in internationals. Born in Scotland and my family is half English, half Welsh. Plus nothing excites me about internationals unless it is another home nation scoring against England... just saying it as I see it. Mentality should be England are walking out against a local version of Liechtenstein and hammer the fuck out of them.

The overreaction to my banter kinda makes me believe that Ryan has a point.

weak trolling. a liverpool forum is a pretty poor choice of forum to find england fans.

Its always the smug cunt fans of Sweden and Malaysia and what not who pisstake Englands chances.
Like they are powerhouses of World football.

Not that I dont agree with you mate but at least Sweden have 3 international medals and England 1. 😉
England arent exactly a powerhouse in international football...

I dont think youll find any England fans who think we are.

I'm a bit surprised no-one in the Welsh camp has told Bale and Ramsey to shut the f'ck up yet. They're writing Hodgson's team talk for him (perhaps out of pity for the poor old goat).

As an Irishman I tend to side with the underdog. So on this occasion I think I will be giving Wales my support

Fair play to Wales for upping the ante with verbals. They’re confident, well-organised and will have the best player on the pitch so why not? It’s always a problem for England when paired with National neighbours as they’re always clearly up for it more.
That said, Wales will look like bell ends if it doesn’t pay off.
I'll go for a draw.

If Roy Hodgson picks the same team that started against Russia, then England deserve to lose. It was a shite initial team selection and then he made really poor, very late substitutions.

It's crazy that his tenure as manager was extended after the World Cup shit show, and this will reinforce everything you need to know about his utterly bollocks football acumen.

How this man has risen to be the England manager and a multi-millionaire makes me want to self-flagellate.

No it isn't. We've beaten Wales four games on the bounce and only lost 2 out of the last 10 games.

It's a similar story for the rest, only lost once in the last 10 vs ROI, NI and Scotland.

Admittedly, most of the ROI games were draws, but we've snotted the rest loads of times. Because they're shit.

I am feeling quite confident on behalf of England today, I actually think you've got a team that's capable of competing for the first time on I don't how long. Not much thanks to Roy mind (though I actually think he's a better manager for an International side than a club side - maybe because he can do less harm as there are fewer matches) but simply because you've got a core of very talented players combined with a few seasoned ones.

Rooney in that CM role is a shrewd move, really think he's turning more and more into Scholes, Dier will be a top DM, Alli a top player and then you've got Kane, Vardy and Sturridge top pick from upfront. The best line of attackers to pick from of all in the Euros.

Can Sterling and Lallana (he looked mostly good against Russia) deliver and the ones coming in from the bench too - I can see England go as far as the Semis. If not further.

*All this said and done, I now fully expect you to lose today.

It's raining in Lens which is a huge advantage for england! This will definitely help the English with their kick and chase tactics and at the same time hinder our free flowing total football approach.
Hahahaha.

I'm hoping Bale has forgotten what playing in the rain is like by now, & keeps falling over when he tries to run.

That is probably the most hilariously back-handed compliment I have ever read. Hodgson is a better international manager than a club manager because he has fewer matches to fuck up.

It felt against my nature to give Roy credit as a manager why I had to look for reasons. That one seemed valid enough to me.

If anyone is sitting on the fence with this one, I'd like to point out that Wales will probably have two Liverpool players, whilst England will have one.

England will also have two dirty mancs, whilst Wales will remain pure with zero dirty mancs in their team.

Funny cos it's true.

Although it has to be said his ethos (such as it is) is more suited to international tournaments than club football, as he typically would prefer to play for a draw than risk a loss in pushing for a win, which can yield decent results at times.

I'm actually hoping for a draw, just so I can hear woy saying what a great result that was against a powerhouse like Wales.
