According to Sport1 we're linked to RB Leipzig's striker Emil Forsberg.

Personally I think it's a load of bullshit but I thought I'd share.

24 years old, 179 cm, 78kg.

17 games this season, 5 goals, 4 assists.

13 caps for Sweden.

Just checked. 24 years old.

0 goals in 15 games last season.
5 goals in 12 games this season.
1 goal in 13 games for Sweden.

What the fuck are our scouts on?

He isn't a striker. He is a right sided winger. Works his socks off and is excellent off the ball.

Klopp love ball winners and Forsberg is an very good ball winner.

The reason that RB Leipzig signed him was that they outbid a few other clubs that wanted him. Red Bull own Leipzig. PSV, Ajax, Schalke, Inter for example wanted him.

The next Thomas brolin?

No. Brolin was probably the best player in the world before he got his almost career ending foot injury. Forsberg is a very good player but not more than that.

Brolin was distracted from professional football by his numerous attempts at Peter Dowdeswell's world records.

No, I'm not mad. Brolin dominated the midfield together with Zola when they played for Parma. The best midfield in Serie A at that time. Brolin as the central midfielder and Zola the AM. Asprilla and Melli as the strikers. Milan the best club on the planet wanted to sign him but Parma refused to sell. He was to important for them. Parma was a rich club back then.

He then got a very bad foot injury when he played for the national team against Hungary. That injury was the beginning to the end for him and Parma. They couldn't replace him.

How many times did Parma win the league?

Sorry, I know that's a cheap shot but no, Brolin was nowhere near the best player in the world or the top ten players in the world. It's just that in my country (possibly our country) we hyped him up just as much as the English hyped Rooney.

I think people's last fading memory of Brolin is when he went fat. This is what you are dealing with and although he was a very good player in his prime days, he was not the best player in the world.

Brolin's peak was for Parma from 1990-93. During that time he overlapped with Diego Maradona, Marco Van Basten, Ruud Gullit, Michael Laudrup, Hristo Stoichkov, Enzo Francescoli, Lothar Matthaus, Romario, Jurgen Klinsmann, Roberto Baggio, and all the great defenders of Sacchi's Milan.

You may wanna reconsider the best player in the world tag.
