He's bought shit throughout his 3 years Mark. The defence is as rubbish as when he arrived. He has no track record of winning anything.

In my opinion, there will be better managers available and FSG could miss a trick if they stick with Rodgers.

This summer, ancelotti and klopp could be available

If there's a chance we could get either, then I think we'd be foolish to ignore them

It's a pity the fifth best players in the league can't beat shite like Palace. Palace who fucking battered us on our own patch.

In reality there are a load of managers I'd prefer. Koeman, De Boer, Unai Emery. Klopp would just be a massive bonus.

No excuses.

We had in excess of 100m to spend. We have not qualified for the champs league.

He struggled to motivate the team when we had everything to play for.

Moreover, Klopp is available.

We need to act quickly rather than dispose of him in late Aug, AFTER he has spent more money, and we are struggling and we have King Kenny come back on a temp basis and have another write off of a season.

The players aren't even showing any fight or passion. This season I've seen some of the most pathetic displays. I've never seen a Liverpool team roll over and die in a cup semi final like they did against Villa. Unfair or not the buck stops with the manager.

So we're no better than Newcastle and Spurs then. Well done, you all must be fucking made up.

I feel for the next sorry twat who'll get shrouded in accolades for a couple of seasons before getting thrown on the heap after a hiccup of a season.

YNWA.. yeah right.

Or we could be Man Utd and stick with our small-club manager who has us plodding around in 7th and attracting Marouane Fellaini?

Fuck that. They went and got Van Gaal who was capable of convincing Europe's best to join, and has them in the top 3 after 1 season.

This manager has spent over 200M, we're 5th, out of every trophy with barely a whimper, can't defend, can't score a goal, can't attract a decent player, and we're going backwards.

He's had 3 years, and we're useless. Fuck your pandering YNWA bollocks Mark.

I am all for sacking Rodgers IF we can bring in a proven winner.

If people like Klopp and Ancelotti are available and willing to join, then why not?

Just accept it mark. He will not be able to sort this out. He hasn't got the reputation to drag us up. at best we'll continually be selling our youngsters once they're good.

This is what has me leaning towards change. But he should only be axed IF we have his successor 100% signed, sealed and delivered. No point firing him and THEN beginning an exhaustive and futile recruitment jag. That would be so typical. And we'll get the safe hands of Fat Sam.

Right there is the difference.
I mentioned earlier..

UTD finished higher this season with arguably a worse squad than last season

Long term Injuries to key players such as Carrick... failed key signings.. patched up defence... an out of form Wayne Rooney in parts... Crocked Van Persie...

However they have a 'high profile' manager in which they can attract the right players

Look at the effort of David Moyes last Season?

Despite 'arguably' being a better manager.... Rodgers falls into the same category of Managers for me as David Moyes. The name Brendon Rodgers won't attract the right big name players.. With Gerrard gone you can only imagine that could get worse..

If this club has any ounce of ambition we need to follow UTD's lead to challenge the Top 4 again.. We need a big name manager that has that pulling power.. to find those players and leaders that can take this club forward...

I'd agree but this requires a complete change of the owners philosophy and unlocking the piggy bank.

Their perceived lack of regular involvement and the snails pace with which everything commercial seems to be done says they need reports and to 'sign off' everything from afar. I can't see them reorganizing themselves to make us their priority.

Of course I have no idea what their real involvement is, it's just a hunch. I get the feeling we're an investment rather than a spearhead business.

Fellaini has probably got them in the CL, alongside Carrick and Mata who were already there. They've fallen into the CL on account of the rest of us being more inconsistent than they are. They threw extortionate wages at Falcao and a massive fee at Di Maria and others, all whom have been just as bigger flops as our fuck ups, only even more pricey. Lets not pretend that LVG has done a good job. If we had brought in Di Maria and Falcao, 4th wouldn't be seen as success.

Di Maria went completely off the boil in the second half of the season, but before Christmas he was their best player in a stuttering team.

We lost Suarez and Sturridge.

I dont think we replaced them well.
I guess the biggest issue is the failure of Balotelli. Id give Mr Rodgers the summer but we need to be off to a flyer and well in the top 4 mix by December.
If at that time we havnt progressed in terms of players, play and position I would be actively looking for change.

For me the guy built a quality side, its not really his fault that Suarez, Sturridge and to a lesser extent Flanagan went missing for this season. It is partly his fault we spent 100m and ended up worse than we were, but again a lot of our signings are young and will improve.

I dunno, I think its just too early to pull the trigger, and I dont really care what he says or about his philosophy or personality. I only care about results
Last season we finished 2nd
This season 5th.
If we arent back in the mix next year then his time will be up.
According to Rodgers if you spend £100m you should be challenging for the league title. So no excuses really.

In what world do you "give the manager the summer"?
How is that gonna change anything?

I'd rather give a new manager the summer to sell off players he doesn't need and buy the players he wants.

Gerrard won us the game against QPR in the 87th min to keep up our chances of getting 4th. Come a week later, with the score tied and us needing a win, he took Gerrard off in the 80th min for his applause from the plastics. That's just criminal. What kind of message is he sending the team by taking off our best player when we needed the win at all cost.

Our legacy is built on winning, not on sappy side show "Mr Liverpool" crap like this.

Anyone who thinks this is 'part of the process' or 'he's serving his apprenticeship and will learn from this' is a fucking mentalist. And if I hear one more person bang on about how we finished second last year...

Rafa finished second one year, we sacked him at the end of the next one. Rodgers has had time, money, the full backing of the club and fans and has presided over our worst three years of a start to a managerial regime for over 50 years. The team has no heart, no plan and no clue.

Abject in Europe (twice) pathetic in two semi finals and a points tally that's as bad as Rafa's final season is not good enough. I'm sick of hearing this 'we're loyal to our managers and give them time' bollocks too. The is not one single thing to suggest he'll turn this around. There are three world class managers leaving their jobs in a couple of weeks, all of whom have experience and have won trophies.

Exactly.

Now get that rubbish about us getting Ancelotti
Klopp or Guardiola
out of your heads and get you know who before City does.
