Defending Carra (formerly West Ham thread)

Sakho looks to have it all to me, honestly don't see any reasons yet why he can't be up alongside Kompany as the best defender in the league, his only blemish so far was when his head went for that 20 minute spell in the City game giving the ball away 3/4 times, he can maybe be a bit rash in the tackle but there was improvement in that as he went along.

Honestly Modo im not into the petty stuff of doing down one player to big up another, just saying it how i see it, no BS agenda shit from me, only one agenda matters - Liverpool winning.

I don't know if I genuinely feel concerned about West Ham or if it's just the horrible prospect of Fat Sam having an impact on our title charge; either way I'm a little concerned by this game.

I'm sure deep down the Fat man would rather have a British manager win the league than Maureen or Pellegrini. Not saying that has any effect on the game though.

Are you kidding me?

I've seen Sakho play live, he's got the worst ball control of all our defenders, even Touré.

Seriously if you think that Sakho's ball control is as good as Agger's there's definitely something wrong with you.

Ok except that's not what you said. You said Sakho had the worst ball control of any LFC defender.

Sakho is quite assured on the ball, he had some helter skelter moments early in the season with misplaced passes but I'm not sure there was much evidence to eviscerate him RE: his ball control.

Sakho has a lot of strengths, his aerial ability, his tackling ability, his speed, his physique but ball control is definitely not his forte.

What I mean was that he is the worst compared to our other center backs. Skrtel, Agger and Touré are all better with the ball. Granted Touré fucked up against WBA but he's got like 3 assists or something.

Whatever happened to the_khl?

Did he give up on it all when Eriksen moved to Spurs?

He gave it up because of some peoples unreasonable criticism of Agger, I think.

Saying that Sakho's ball control is as good as Agger's is borderline mental imo.

How good do you think Sakho will be for us?

Without a good first touch he surely won't make it here will he?

It's something he can learn. I think he's raw in some aspects but top class in others. From what I've seen this season he's improved with every game he's played. So there's a lot of potential there.

Reading the comments on this forum makes you believe that Agger has been awful for the last few games.

Just check what RAWK posters are saying:

I think Modo is right. Sakho's ball control is marginally worse than that of our other 3 senior CBs. I don't think it's a problem though as it's all thin margins and all 4 are basically pretty good at it. But yes, if you have to choose purely on ball control, I think it would be Agger, Toure, Skrtel and Sakho in that order.

Sakho has the best passing accuracy stats in the whole squad (92%), so you're talking out of your arse here.
And before you say he only hits short passes, he's average pass is 21m. Agger is 20m.

Fair and balanced.
