The odd mistake?
Once upon a time and it was a pretty common understanding that Carragher had at least one mistake in him per game.
It's not about his 16 years of service. I didn't rate him at the beginning of his career either. The only time I thought he did well was during the years under Benitez. He's just not my type of footballer and that's basically it.
Because he can defend first and foremost, as opposed to Agger's exaggerated label of being this cultured player who should be playing for Barca (there's some truth there, for all the wrong reasons).
Like you say, you prefer defenders who can play a bit before anything else, that's your thing, fine, it doesn't make it right, a defenders duty first and foremost is to defend, if they can play a bit too then great, it shouldn't be THE prerequisite. And if you're going to put forward mistakes, you may aswell start compiling videos of strikers missing chances, because they all do, right?
How many centre backs don't make mistakes?? Do you want to put together a compilation of super John Terry's? Or Vidic's? Oh soz, they've won the league so that's the difference, like Carra could never have been part of a league winning side, even though he challenged for it twice and helped carry an otherwise indifferent side throughout the rest of his career and won EVERYTHING else there is to win in the game.
When I've called you out on being a troll before I've been shot down for it.
"Oh poor Modo hasn't said anything wrong", get fucked. You're a troll and you fucking know it.
If you can't fathom why people relate to and RESPECT players like Carragher, then you really don't have a clue about what the heart and soul of the club is.
Carragher gets every mistake highlighted and labelled as overrated, unwanted, just about every bit of disrespect thrown his way (he makes a mistake every game?!). But bellends like that fucking Dos Santos, who failed at Spurs and Ipswich, gets lauded as a great possible signing, because he's good at keep ups.
RAWK must love you, you tick all the right boxes.
