Yeah true, i know not everyone agrees but he still has a lot to offer the team, as someone wrote the other day his set pieces alone are invaluable to us right now and hes still our best midfielder, he needs some better players around him in that midfield.

As far as I know, Any team can't tell England their player is injured and can't play, the FA changed the rules that only their medics can make that call.

The serious issue here is a player wanting to play for the National team knowing he isn't fully fit, and not giving a fuck about the team that pays his wages, if he aggravated the injury and weakened Liverpool with a month or more out, costing us a European place or maybe even the title, that is unacceptable

Fucking right. Something needs to go in their contracts so if they play for their countries, whilst injured, they don't get paid. And, if they come back injured, they don't get paid until they're fit.
Too many of these footballers sign these huge contracts then have the easy life, they should be skewed in favour of pay as you play, so they work their balls off.
Sturridge and Gerrard can go waltzing off for a poxy international friendly, get themselves injured, or play injured, then come back not giving an arse about the club that pays their wages?

Isn't it the other way round in that stupid cricket sport? Don't they get all the dollar from the national team but pennies from the club?
