I thought that was Ryan, talking about Joe Allen.
Those videos make him look like a final third type player. Is his starting position deeper than it looks on those videos?
Edit: Just read this http://bundesligafanatic.com/milan-badelj-hamburgs-deep-lying-playmaker/. Sounds good!
Shelvey will go out on loan next season, Suso possibly will too. As for Gerrard, he could play further forward, tbh if we were playing with Gerrard, Lucas and Allen in the same midfield, we could replace Alonso for Allen no trouble.I've wanted Alonso back ever since he left but I just don't see how we'll accommodate both him and Gerrard in midfield.
Gerrard isn't that dynamic box to box player any more. He plays a lot deeper nowadays it's pretty much Xabi's role.
Also, what would it do to Henderson, Allen, Shelvey, Suso etc who are fighting for those places?

Couldn't give a shit about the players you listed. They can sit on the bench or buggar off.I've wanted Alonso back ever since he left but I just don't see how we'll accommodate both him and Gerrard in midfield.

It's a valid point. I'd never turn down Alonso.Couldn't give a shit about the players you listed. They can sit on the bench or buggar off.
Suarez, as has been the case recently, can be the middle of the '3' in a 4-2-3-1. Gerrard can wonder around, Xabi can play as the disciplined player sitting back and dictating the game.
Gerrard used to play in the middle of the '3', which required a high work rate. Not so much if he plays in the less disciplined role amongst the '2', which he enjoys playing now anyway.
Still would be lacking steel in midfield though. Alonso played his best when next to mascherano. Midfield steel should be our number 1 priority.Couldn't give a shit about the players you listed. They can sit on the bench or buggar off.

Has informed Real that he wont sign a new deal
Is it known why?
He is playing with and for a bunch of dickheads but it's strange for a player to leave such a big club whilst they're still wanted and with seemingly nowhere to go.
I wonder how this would effectour best 11Joe Allen?
Hmmm.
Good afternoon counsel, how goes the battle?
I'd like to think Xabi Alonso is one player who might look for more than just the biggest payday. However, that might depend on *how* big the offers he gets turn out to be.
