FC Dallas youngster Brek Shea is open to a move to the Premier League.

The USA international was watched by Liverpool and Manchester City scouts against Honduras on the weekend, while Manchester United and Chelsea have also been credited with interest.

Asked if Shea would be interested in a move to the Premier League, his rep Barry MacLean told skysports.com: "It's on his radar. He is a young player with high aspirations and every player wants to play at the highest level.

"I think England would be an interesting option for Brek, but we will wait and see what happens."

FC Dallas star Brek Shea is carving out a nice place for himself with the United States under new boss Jurgen Klinsmann. The winger set up the only goal scored in three games under Klinsmann in the 1-1 draw with Mexico and followed that up with two promising starts in losing efforts against Costa Rica and Belgium.

Against Costa Rica Shea set up Landon Donovan for the USA's best chance of the night. Against Belgium, despite an obvious step up in the class of his opponents, the 21-year-old had several moments where he ghosted past established European defenders and got to the end line to deliver service, earning him the praise of his new boss.

"I think we have some very interesting youngsters coming through the ranks," Klinsmann said after the Belgium match. "Brek Shea is definitely one of them. He's full of energy, he's creative, and he’s fast and has a good physical presence. He's one of the kids we are going to build over the next cycle.

"He's eligible to play for the Olympic team, and so are others as well, like Juan Agudelo. You see their talent and what we try to do is build them one step at a time. It's good to see guys like Brek come over here and play against a strong side. We've told the young players it's now their time to challenge the established ones. That's the message they've got and they have three years to do that."

Shea's impact has been easy to spot. His pace on the left and ability to get down the line gives the USA something it hasn't had on that side of the pitch for quite some time. The goals haven't come yet, but Shea says he's enjoying his time with the USA, and getting more comfortable with each outing.

“I'm having a really good time playing with Klinsmann," he said. "Being around the guys is a lot of fun and I'm learning a lot. Hopefully I can continue to be called in. Each time I play I get more and more comfortable.”

Germans Schalke have previously had a £2.5million bid rejected for the powerful Dallas winger, 21.

Shea for the American market and Kagawa for the Asian one? 😛

What a fab biz strategy binny. He's got some trickery on the ball, in a country that does not cultivate flair players. So he is standing out, but he hasn't got a lot in his locker at this point..but may change imho

His name is fucking ridiculous.

Brek? Brek?! As in fucking Ready Brek?

Is he related to Titus Bramble by any chance?

Well, I was referring to his first name which would mean I would still have to put 'Shea' on the back of a shirt...but if he's one of these first name shirt cunts like maxi rodriguez then I suppose it would have to be cockmuncher wouldnt it. Tbh I have Adam on the back of the current one so there isnt much difference 😉

United States winger Brek Shea, one of the most highly-rated young players in Major League Soccer, will spend a month training with English Premier League club Arsenal, his MLS team FC Dallas said on Thursday.

Shea, 21, will team-up with the Gunners after playing for the U.S in friendly matches in France and Slovenia on November 11 and 15.

Dallas said in a statement on their website that Shea would then be returning to Texas in December.

"The decision to send Shea to train with the Gunners was made after U.S. head coach Juergen Klinsmann encouraged his MLS-based players to spend the off-season training overseas to enter January camp in top shape," said the statement.

FC Dallas head coach Shcellas Hyndman has given his blessing to the arrangement.

"Affording Brek the opportunity to continue to work on improving his game and measure himself among the best players in the world is something we are all excited about," he said.

"It's a winning situation for Brek, FC Dallas and the U.S. team, as the extra training time will help push his game to the next level."

There has been no suggestion that Arsenal intend to sign Shea, who usually plays wide on the left.

Arsenal have a North American scout, Danny Karbassiyoon and the club's chief executive Ivan Gazidis is former deputy commissioner of MLS.

MLS's off-season runs from late November to mid-March and Klinsmann has been pushing players in and around his national team squad, to take advantage of the break to train with foreign clubs.

U.S. reserve team keeper Bill Hamid is currently training with another Premier League club, West Bromwich Albion.
