I don't want Ryan Babel to go to Birmingham.

Agreed, strengthening a mid table rival is madness

"Sobs" >🙁 >🙁 >🙁

Strengthening a rival would be madness, however sabotaging them would be a good idea - as in the case of selling them that useless lump.
£9 is unbelievable considering how crap he is. Babel obviously sees himself back on the continent and probably in Holland, at least this bid might make people think he is better than he actually is.
I know youtube vids should be largely ignored, but I liked the cut of the Jocks jib (that's a fucking nautical term too)

Vlad - McGeady, on occassions, has struggled to get into the Celtic team. he was dropped for the Rangers game at Ibrox earlier this season for several reasons - most of which revolve around him being unreliable.

I could go into great detail on him, but it's pointless - He is unbelievably nowhere near good enough for a team aspiring to compete in the Top 4 in England and the upper echelons of Europe. Especially for the ludicrous figures being bandied about.

I just like players who do flamboyant things, I liked Duncan McKenzie for the same reason.
I would not know him if I fell over him, so don't take my remarks too seriously

Was Duncan McKenzie the one who twatted Emlyn Hughes then got put in his place by Tommy Smith?
[/quote]

That doesn't sound right at all.

Yes, that Celtic winger is nowhere near what we should be aspiring to

He would look well out of place in the same side as great players like Lucas and Insua

Yeah but Celtic would probably try demand 8-10 million plus for his signature. Fuck that.

It is though. McKenzie had been elbowing Hughes around the face and head at various times during one Merseyside derby, so Smithy took, er, corrective action. Mind you, it is said that he then helped McKenzie to his feet and growled in his ear: "I could get to like you."

Galatasaray In The Hunt For Liverpool Forward Ryan Babel - Report

Galatasary are ready to enter the race to sign Liverpool striker Ryan Babel, according to a report from The Times.

The Dutchman is understood to be keen on a move to mainland Europe rather than elsewhere in England, with a clutch of clubs ready to pounce after the Reds turned down a reported £9 million bid from Birmingham City for the player.

The Turkish outfit are managed by Babel's fellow countryman Frank Rijkaard, which could increase their appeal to a man whose Anfield career appears to be over.

The Dutchman has endured an unfortunate spell at Liverpool, whom he joined in 2007 from Ajax.

He is understood to be keen on a move to a club with Champions League prospects, though some sources claim that Birmingham may return with an improved bid soon.

Birmingham's £8m bid for Liverpool's Ryan Babel denied

There was nothing unfortunate about it. Lazy fecker who just couldnt be chuffed with making any effort.

And having the first touch of a spacker.

Which one of Babel's is the useless one?

(Maybe I should rephrase that)

Which of Babel's two feet is less useless than the other one?

Even if the 9m only went towards debt I'd rather sell the lazy shite than keep him.

i don't understand why we rejected 9million. now if we dont recieve another offer benitez will have made himself and his staff into sons of bitches

Yea, I can't believe anyone would pay that for him. He's well worth a punt at 6 million or so but 9 is already very generous.

Same here. He's absolutely pointless and is costing us money. I hope turning down 9mil doesn't put off potential bidders. Realistically, he's worth nothing like that, Rafa & Purslow must realise that. Well, Purslow hopefully.

The Mirror claim Brum have upped their offer to 10 mill £.

The question is, should we sell him even if we can't bring in a replacement?

Brum want a marquee signing and Babel must be it (or one of them).

As for the the question, then yeah, we should. His contributions over the last 18 months have been pretty minimal. There is no point keeping him around because we're not going to play him.

The trouble is if we accept an offer from Brum, we still need to convince Babel it's nice there, on the plus side there must be a good rap vibe there

I think Babels agent said they would listen to what Brum have to say if we accept a bid. He probably wants a move abroad, and that would probably be the best move. If he should succed at Brum, it will always haunt us imho.

I think Galatasaray could be a likely destination, as Rijkaard is their coach. Babels agent claimed the interest of 6 clubs, so it will be interesting to see.

If we sell him, we'll have Benny, Riera and Aurelio at LW. Is that good enough? No, but if Riera stays fit that might be enough for the rest of the season.

If its true that we're saving the transfer fees we recieve for the summer window. I guess Rafa will either have 12-16 mill if we sell Babel, or 35 mill if we get CL aswell.
