I thought he made a fantastic re-adjustment of his feet/body to finish like he did.
Because he almost fucked up !
So ?

He managed to make that RE-ADJUSTMENT to SCORE FOR LIVERPOOL.

I know you like to argue a point until the end of time, but I'm not interested.

He scored.

We won.

End.

Cisse used to score goals and that didn't stop people from criticizing him.

Scoring a goal doesn't make you immune from criticism.

Similarly criticizing doesn't mean you can't enjoy the good things when they come about.

It's not hard to understand really.

You can blame Andy for things like his touch and his mobility, but please stop blaming him for his fee. He didnt set it.
No-one is blaming HIM for his fee, in fact I expressly stated I didn't. I blame the club / Kenny / Comolli or whoever was responsible. But that doesn't change the fact that he is in fact virtually unproven in the EPL and has it all to do. I really hope he can step up because that's great for the club, but I have massive doubts.

The point is he fucked up the touch. And?
He scored with his next one

And fine, criticise Carroll, but I'm not used to seeing someone criticized for scoring.

Kick off about another fuck up in the match. Cisse didn't get criticized when he SCORED. It was when he squandered myriad chances.

Don't shout.

And you have picked out the goal but my criticism was far wider than that.

I've not read through the thread but I'd wager that whoever is doing the criticizing is expressing concerns on the whole with regards to Carroll and it's descended into a petty debate about his finish.

Shit first touch, good second one. Glad he scored and hope he can kick on.

Still concerned bout how he will fit into the side. Still concerned bout the judgment of our management team considering what's been spent and how. That won't go away till I'm proven wrong, which I hope I am.

It's the fact froggy has focused on the touch before the goal

He could rip Carroll apart and I'd agree to disagree. It's the constant "he fucked up! " over his touch that annoys me.

Too much is being made of the heavyish first touch. He improvised and finished really well and that's what counts.

I've read it

I disagree with it completely. But I've not mentioned that so I will

I disagree with you completely

I get it, you don't like Andy because of the fee. None of us do. But you need to get over it.

Now, as for standing Like an oak tree.

I completely and utterly, irrefutably, disagree. He moves quite a lot off the ball trying to find a position where he can attack the goal. He knows his limitations and doesn't want the ball in a position where he has to beat 3 men.
He's not Suarez

He wants the ball where he can use his strength or abuse a bit of space.

But as I said. We completely disagree on all things Carroll

I'm glad certain posters "support" from afar rather than bringing their criticism to Anfield.

I was so proud of our fans who supported Crouch without question during his barren start with Liverpool because they could see how hard he worked and how much he cared.

Liverpool supporters.

i wouldnt criticise the goal, i think that in itself is a bit of a paradox.

he has looked better recently, but i think thats because he was absolutely shite before that, honestly i think he's still got a lot of improvement to do, his touch still isnt great, he still got beat in the air loads, and as someone mentioned before his movement in the box is just nowhere near good enough at the moment. having said that he is improving all the time, and im confident that if he keeps getting games, especially alongside suarez, he'll improve drastically.

I thought you said you read it ? Try again !

The Oak Tree reference was to one particular instance in the match - not a comment on his general mobility.

Fee - I didn't say I don't like Andy because of the fee - I have quite clearly stated that this is no fault of his. What I have said is that he is not yet of the required standard. I don't see why that is so difficult to understand ... unless of course you think he is of a Liverpool #9 quality.

Why of course Wilko, everyone knows debating a player's qualities, or lack of, on an internet site equates to support. Fuck me. Why are you not crying out at the lack of support for Johnson or Downing then ?

Who hasn't got a lot to improve on?

Here is a guy who has played less than 40 games in the premiership or in any top flight football. The price we paid was wrong. So was the price we paid for Downing. There is no point in crying over spilt milk. They are here and it seems we seem to score more points when they play (at least in the case Carroll).....so what the fuck is the problem? Let's give him some time before we jump on his throat, shall we?

Froggy, you keep mentioning how the touch wasn't that of a 35m striker

That's you mentioning the fee

Regardless of the fact he was in the top 3 of a fair few posters MOTM.

Regardless of the fact a lot of people said he's improved and played well yesterday.

Regardless of the fact we're struggling in front of goal

And tell me, why isn't he Liverpool standard? Ignoring the fee, tell me why a 22 year old, solid, mobile striker who tends to score quite regularly isn't good enough for s Liverpool side who rarely competed for top honours for the last 20 years?

I'm getting fucking sick of this "Liverpool quality " shit from people.
