They're England batsmen, gene, we're playing the Windies at the moment.

Not a big rum fan as a rule, but I may give that "El Dorado" a try on your recommendation.
Actually one of them (Morgan), is Irish but he plays for England
I think that's why he said England batsmen and not English. Rain stops play.
Yep. I'm not about to forget Morgan's Irish, after calling him "Owen" rather than "Eoin" on here and getting pulled up for it. ;D

God, I hope Broughton doesn't give him a reason to stay. That would be awful.
Bunny, if Broughton really has waited three weeks to schedule a meeting with Rafa, I don't think you need worry.

Woah, Oncey, just because basically the exact *opposite* of every prediction, opinion or stance you take tends to happen, or come true, there is *no* need to compare me to Dreamy
Yeah I get it, you knew we were shit, you've revelled in it all year, you told us before the spurs game, see I told ya, look at me, I told ya!
Great. You're an inspiration to us positive fans.

Broughton works *one* day a week, so 'three weeks' isn't really that long when it come to diary management
But Rafa has sat down in his office on daily basis for those three weeks expecting the phonecall from him. He has not had time to prepare the team for the matches this period. In this club he as the manager has had to take responsibility for everything..... Wonder how many time he has lifted the phone to see if the tone is there....

I have the same birthday as Yossi!! ;D

and im miles better looking!! get in!

but then he is way richer..... and plays for the pool....

I think Rafas comments there are fair point .... lets see what Broughtonboard has to say.

I don't see why Rafa is talking at all. He has a meeting planned with Broughton so he should really just wait and see what comes of it rather than trying to dictate the content of it through the media. It really just looks like another attempt to deflect the attention away from his own culpability in Liverpool's fortunes this season. I imagine there's a fair few questions that Broughton will want answering too.

So is RAWK permitting any anti-Rafa talk these days or are they still worshiping the Rafatollah there?

I couldn't access this site when in China, and I got banned in about 10 minutes there.

They have even over engineered their stupid match threads so that no one can post while the game is going on, because they couldn't handle the horrific things people were saying.

Has anyone stated the obvious that nobody at the club has asked him to leave either?

You don't hear every player crying that nobody asked them to stay.

Your under contract Rafa so unless your told otherwise your staying.

Juventus target Rafael Benítez gives Liverpool ultimatum over future
Tony Barrett

Rafael Benítez will tell Liverpool that only a cast-iron commitment allowing him to invest all of the proceeds from player sales this summer will tempt him to remain at Anfield.

Amid mounting concern that Fernando Torres will seek a move to a new club with genuine prospects of challenging for domestic and European titles, Benítez is weighing up the offer to become Juventus coach.

The Liverpool manager has been given until Monday to accept an offer of a four-year, £16 million contract and he has consistently refused to rule himself out of the running for one of the leading jobs in Italian football. But should Martin Broughton, the Liverpool chairman, offer him a guarantee that revenue from player sales will not be diverted to service the club’s £237 million debt, Benítez could be swayed from bringing his six-year tenure at Anfield to an end.

Benítez is due to convene with Broughton for the first time this week in a meeting that is sure to involve a full and frank exchange of views. Liverpool officials remain unimpressed with Benítez’s flirtation with a rival club, while the Spaniard is unhappy that he has not been given any pledges after requesting clarity about his position and Liverpool’s transfer policy.

The situation regarding Torres is of particular concern, with Manchester City believed to be willing to pay in the region of £70 million for the forward should he indicate a willingness to leave Liverpool. Senior Anfield figures insist that the 26-year-old is not for sale at any price, but Torres is deeply concerned by Liverpool’s deterioration over the past 12 months.

He could force the issue by asking for a transfer and Benítez wants to ensure that he will be given the proceeds of a sale should his record signing depart.

The Liverpool manager’s attempts to force the issue on transfer policy are born of his frustration at events last summer, having claimed that promises regarding available funding, made before he signed a new five-year contract last March, were not kept. That charge is disputed by Anfield officials who insist the club spent about £18 million net, a figure that they claim was in keeping with the amount they had promised their manager.

This summer, Benítez’s transfer pot would not exceed £15 million unless it is enhanced by the proceeds of outgoing transfers. The problem for Benítez is that the club have decided that there will be no great attempts to convince him to stay. Given the £16 million compensation package that would be due to him in the event of being dismissed, the offer from Juventus could suit all parties.

The uncertainty surrounding Benítez’s position is having an impact on the Liverpool squad with several players admitting that they are unclear about what the future holds and whether Benítez and a number of the club’s top stars will be at Anfield next season.

As well as questions about Torres, there are doubts over whether Steven Gerrard will remain and Javier Mascherano has yet to sign the contract that has been verbally agreed. Yossi Benayoun has said he could depart, while Lucas Leiva has revealed how uncertainty is affecting the playing staff.

“It is difficult to speak about next season, as we don’t know what changes there will be with the players or the staff,†Benayoun said. “I don’t know whether I will be here or if I won’t. In a few weeks we will know better.â€

Lucas said: “Everyone is aware of the doubts ove Rafa’s future. But we do not know what is going to happen.â€

Who actually has the power in the club to sack Rafa is it the yanks, Broughton or Pulshow the clubs a complete mess.

If Rafa has lost the dressing room someone has to make the decision to let him go but has anyone actually got the power to write him a cheque for £16 million plus the rest of his coaching staffs contracts. Bit if he still has the support of the senior players the board could play it safe until we get the new owners.

I know the mood is very much Anti-Rafa in this site, but that is not an unfair request by any means.

Yes, but I'm not sure anyone agrees with them.

Save probably you, KHL, rebel23 and Molbystwin.

edit : and Neil, of course.

What a mess our club is in. From these articles, it seems as though we want rid of Rafa, but are hoping he leaves for Juve so we can avoid the nasty issue of compensation. Also, I always thought Torres would give us at least another season, but more and more reports are suggesting he's unhappy - poo.

It's a nothing article though Ken, no direct quotes as usual.

I highely doubt Torres will leave after one season of failure, he has said that the main thing for him is showing that we're moving forward. And he'll be stupid not to wait for the owner situation to be resolved.

He's been injured for half the season, and if he wants to leave the club after a season like that, well he's not the player we thought he was.

He won't go to Man City though, not in a million years.
