i can't believe all the hatred being poured out in this thread. well, maybe hatred's too strong, but certainly contempt.
all he said was that he wanted inter to do some things differently, which seems perfectly reasonable - it doesn't even imply that there was anything wrong with mourinho's methods as much as them not fitting in with the way he likes his teams to play. surely every manager has a general footballing philosophy they're going to stick to wherever they go?

Exactly. Otherwise they could have simply had Mourinho's assistant take over and told him to carry on doing the same thing (an impossible task anyway).
They hired a coach and are going to pay him millions per year, and there's a reason for that.
Bob Paisley did things differently to Bill Shankly. Was that a bad thing?

Obviously every manager will do things his own way and that's bound to involve some change from the previous regime. In fact it's so obvious that most managers don't feel the need to announce it in the media when they take over at a new club, especially when their predecessor won everything in sight, which means that such an announcement can only increase the pressure of the job. Paisley certainly didn't do so (and incidentally you can also bet he changed as little as poss, since he had been instrumental in helping Shanks to create the LFC setup in the first place).

Which is exactly the point, and what has irritated me, he can't help himself, why did he feel the need to say anything at all to the media.
Blurting things out to the media was in some ways the beginning of the end for him with the "Facts" bollocks, another one of Rafa'a gambles that blew up in his face.
I also agree with Gene's point
