Benitez: Changing Mourinho's ways will take time

Yep. Cf The Cunt's pass against Newcastle three seasons ago

After the derby we had the usual collection of fucking bellends quacking on about how Pelle could be captain, he organised the defence, was Benitez's 'general on the pitch', taught us how to play zonal marking

The usual armchair superfan SQUAWK bollocks that makes me want to kill

Oh behave Brendan. Pelle only played around 3 games before being branded an aging, cumbersome, slow motion oaf. Even rabble25 wouldn't stoop so low to suggest he captain us.

Actually many people believed that Benitez over complicated everything to the point of confusing even himself. His words in his latest statement only seem to backup that very notion.

Keeping things simple wasn't a term he seemed to understand.

i can't believe all the hatred being poured out in this thread. well, maybe hatred's too strong, but certainly contempt.

all he said was that he wanted inter to do some things differently, which seems perfectly reasonable - it doesn't even imply that there was anything wrong with mourinho's methods as much as them not fitting in with the way he likes his teams to play. surely every manager has a general footballing philosophy they're going to stick to wherever they go?
Exactly. Otherwise they could have simply had Mourinho's assistant take over and told him to carry on doing the same thing (an impossible task anyway).
They hired a coach and are going to pay him millions per year, and there's a reason for that.
Bob Paisley did things differently to Bill Shankly. Was that a bad thing?
Obviously every manager will do things his own way and that's bound to involve some change from the previous regime. In fact it's so obvious that most managers don't feel the need to announce it in the media when they take over at a new club, especially when their predecessor won everything in sight, which means that such an announcement can only increase the pressure of the job. Paisley certainly didn't do so (and incidentally you can also bet he changed as little as poss, since he had been instrumental in helping Shanks to create the LFC setup in the first place).
Which is exactly the point, and what has irritated me, he can't help himself, why did he feel the need to say anything at all to the media.
Blurting things out to the media was in some ways the beginning of the end for him with the "Facts" bollocks, another one of Rafa'a gambles that blew up in his face.
I also agree with Gene's point
regards

I want him to crash and burn at Inter. Hopefully knock him of his high horse and realize that his shit does stink and he's not always right.

Maureen will get the last laugh here.

You took my treble wining squad and achieved....

He'll start ok. Introducing a new defensive dour formation that makes them solid.
Then he'll start to sign some unknown players from Spain and one or two will be ok and some fans will start to call him a genius.
Then he will start to be a bit aloof in the press, giving knowing smiles when questioned about Moratti or the club.
Then he'll start mind games with managers infinately better cranially equipped to do it and cracks will start to show on the pitch.
Some dissenting fans will start to question the revolving door of players as the 42nd youth player arrives from Hungary or Argentina and the two star players signed the January previous are shipped out.
Then he will start playing Et'oo at Left back and Chivu as centre forward, and the occassional 'What the fuck' will be heard around the San Siro as they follow up a 1-0 away to Roma with a 2-0 defeat to lowly Cesena.
Then some fans will start to question his rainman like substitutions and question the fact that he seems to be starting fights in an empty boardroom.
Then one day he will turn up for work dressed in a track suit and childishly only answer questions about the next game.
Meanwhile most of the Champions league winning team he inherited will be shipped out and replaced by a huge quantity of Goalkeepers and Youth players.
He will then alienate some of his best players left by dropping them when they play well and refusing to congratulate them when they play well.
Then he will start to moan about only having had 200m to spend in his time at the club and many fans will say that he cant compete with the likes of Juventus and Roma (Who have spent less in the same period of time).
Then he will threaten to leave if he isnt allowed to decide who makes the tea in the canteen and to further his aim he will fire continuous broadsides at the chairman and owners of the club.
Eventually in a few years he will have ripped the heart out of the club, sold off most of the best players and left an unhappy, unbalanced mess of a squad behind and chance upon a new team that are of champions league winning calibre and be fired or walk out to loud applause from his fans who see him as a hero of Ceaseresque proportions who has rescued the club from the mediocrity of the manager he took over fromand dragged it out of the dark ages.
His waste size will be 53" and his beard a Ming.

I hope you mean "waist" size, Oncy. Otherwise that would have to be a world record for a jobbie.

Thank you.

Am I the only one here who wishes Rafa well and actually supporting Inter in the champions league because Rafa is there? He loved LFC and tried his best to make us successful but it just didn't happen.

I think more than most will wish him well. I wont be supporting Inter though, always an AC Milan fan myself!

Looks like Rafa has manged to change Mourinho's ways already. Two games in, beaten by Atletico in the Super Cup and drew with managerless Bologna.

He's already getting his excuses in :

"Let's see if we do can do some late transfer business and if not wait until January."

Needless to say but I don't wish him well.

I'm sure you're not alone but I'm not with you. I would like to see him given the resources to do exactly what he said he wanted to do here. And then see him fail miserably.

(I do respect what he did for us at the beginning of his tenure, just think the last year saw terrible decline and alienated him from me. There were terrific highs and miserable lows and now that he's at Inter I hope the pattern of decline continues&gt😉

Using similar excuses to what he used here. This man only knows how to use excuses. Big mistake from moratti in signing him

Obviously if he's up against the likes of Real or Barca, I'd want Inter to win. Or against any English team. Other than that, I don't care
