Yes, it is a shame, but he was clearly set on the move. I don't agree with those who think we've done this just out of sentiment either - IMO you're never going to get full value out of a wantaway player. Can't help feeling we could have asked for a token fee though.

I think the lure of working under Kenny attracted him back, sad to see him go, but it's been an absolute pleasure watching him play.

I agree, we were never attempting to block the move and its obviously a decision made for sentimental reasons in Bellamys case but I cant see why we should let good players go for nothing and then have to pay good money to replace them. Even getting him off the wage bill is no that significant. I dont see any upside for us in this deal

That said he was great for us last year and i dont begrudge him the move at all
