I think it's because there was a line drawn in the sand last summer between posters on SCM saying he was good and LFC should sign him and the other side saying he wasn't good enough. People are still wrapped up in those arguments and not looking at him objectively IMO.

Sorry mate, that's bs ... I had no issues with him signing, though I still hate him! 🙂

Fair play to him though, he hasn't been half bad the last few games playing out of position and well past his prime.

Can you really stand the US commentary? My lord ... it's not as bad as Bretos and Boucigrass (if I'm not mistaken) but it's still TERRIBLE - they get so high on Alitdore (had a good game) and his goal (it's not a difficult finish when you're by yourself in the middle of the goal) ... I guess it's what I get for growing up in the US at 14 after years in Europe and dealing with how great the US would be in football since they now take it 'seriously' ...

Yeah they hype up everything to be much better than it is but you also have to take into account that essentially this same team was played off the pitch the other night against Belgium 4-2 and now were able to beat a "name team" in Germany (even though it was their reserves).

Also for Altidore it was his 1st goal in forever for the national team so everyone was irrationally exuberant.

It's a 'name team' that rarely plays together - and despite that, they really should have scored 3-4 goals in the 1st half (and it wasn't Howard doing anything, it was just them missing two sitters - per and schurrle stand out).

Altidore is actually a decent player - was pathetic at Hull but has rediscovered his confidence with AZ etc ... He could still be a very good player.

I can't stand the 'top scorer' lark they bandy around either tbh - you're playing shit Carribean teams most of the time. Donovan etc would have far fewer goals if they were playing top notch opposition instead of Belize and Guatemala.

Its a fucking stupid plan for a team with 20m to spend.

We have more to spend (we'll sell some players) ... and while we can't do what Chelsea do loaning out all their future first teamers and world class talents, if the option is available, we can't pass up on having a dominant keeper for the next 10-15 years.

We cant pay 15m for a player we dont need and cant have for another year.
Football manager nonsense.

We've had this attitude for so long ... Didn't want to spend 12 million on some lanky Portuguese winger etc etc ...
I dont mind signing the cunt Wizz, but not for 15m and NOT to loan him out. Its fucking ridiculous to use 3/4 of our transfer budget on a layaway scheme whenwe HAVE to get back in the champions league to compete.
Your being a fucking tard.

I have to say I am with Oncy here, would be a lot of money spend on someone that wouldn't have a real impact on our team for years.

Every penny spent this window should go towards Danish.... towards players that'll actually take us a giant leap forwards in the upcoming Season. Imagine if we actually were to get back in to 4th, then we'd be right back where the money is and then we wouldn't have any difficulties attracting the top talents - and pay for them too.

Yeah, I'm with Oncey too.

It would be great to be able to do that but it doesn't seem that we're in a position to do that. 15M is a lot of money.

I think even Chelsea only paid in the region of 6M euros for Courtois.
