[article]Liverpool striker Iago Aspas believes winning the Premier League is a realistic goal for his side this season, insisting the Reds are in a strong position to challenge for domestic honours.
Brendan Rodgers' men sit in third place, with a perfect record to open their campaign.
Ahead of Monday's trip to Swansea, Aspas has talked up Liverpool's chances of not only breaking into the top four, but having a serious shot at the title.

"We have an excellent attack," he said. "With Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez we are able to break any defence. It is certainly not madness to aspire to winning the title this season."
Aspas has started all three of Liverpool's league games this season but will face further competition for his place when Luis Suarez returns from suspension later this month.
But the Spaniard says he is now settled into his new surroundings and is ready to focus on making his mark at Anfield.
"I am still at the stage where I am adapting in Liverpool to the clothes and the food," he added. "But the people here relate to football and music, and for me it is a pleasure to live this experience. I always dreamed of playing for a big club, and Liverpool are known all over the world."[/article]

He sounds like a likeable version of Voronin. Bonkers he may be, but I have high hopes for the little twerp.

He'll get goals, I think he looks like he's settling in well, he's had a bit of a shaky start after a very good preseason, but it takes time, he's got tricks up his sleeve and a cool finish.

Don't we always lose after a player talks about how we can get 4th, or win the league?

Yes, that is the standard way of it. All of the omens for this game are in place and not any of them is good. Put some major cash on Swansea.

Yeah, let's do some reverse shit, we all hold hands and say we're gonna get beat..

and then DB comes running into the room predicting a 10-0 win and all the good work counts for fuck all.

Go home Aspas, you're drunk.

He was poor against United and faces tough competition from Moses already never mind Suarez back in a game or two. I like him though. He did very well in pre season.Could do with a goal to settle himself down.

Aspas was rightly taken off against Utd as he looked liable to get a second booking and he wasn't contributing much towards the end. However I could still see some very clever movement from him in the first half. He found himself free in some very dangerous positions and Studge didn't play him in (who whilst having a good game against the Mancs was a ball greedy shit when we were breaking on them in the first half).

I think Aspas will be a lot better when played centrally.

He's not got the pace or the ability to run at player to be effective in the wing-forward position he's playing in currently. He relies primarily on instinct and intelligence, and those are likely to pay far greater dividend when he's playing in the centre. With Borini out, he'll get opportunities to play in that role whenever Sturridge is injured/rested. I reckon he'll do quite well over the course of the season there.
