Can we afford for Artur to be a dud?

Henderson - crab
Millie - old
Thiago - yeah for 30 games
Keita & ox - fuck off
Harvey and the yoofs- well, they are youths.

We literally always an injury to fab or thiago or Elliott (off recent) from disaster ..

So we really Artur to be good enough to play regularly , don't we ? Or we hobble into 3rd /4th or worse ?!
He’s not going to be. He’ll be fantastic for us.

A few details have been released in regards to the loan deal:

Paying 4 mill £ for the loan
Wages covered at about 60/40 by us
32 mill fee agreed if we want to make it permanent, paid over 2 years
A contract is already agreed with Arthur if we make it permanent

This isn’t the first time I’ve heard a loan deal that has split wages and a fee. Seems daft, why not just pay the wages or just the fee?@Beamrider what’s the reason for this? Is it the equivalent of Opex/Capex is my world?

I’m guessing it’s accounting as it’ll be split across different years. Cash flow too.

Kieta replacement - fuck him off, Arthur is already less injured.

I’m all for Caicedo, Jude & Jacob Ramsey over the next 2 windows.

They’ll we’re back to searching for a new CB.
Lol that's made my day, so true though. If I remember clearly when Naby joined us he could not play coz he was injured!!!

I seem to remember you rubbishing my suggestions for getting rid of Naby or the very least getting another MF in.

Dont start Thiago in this one. He can get some minutes of the bench tomorrow, but start against Wolves.

No - I was rubbishing your suggestion that our season was over if we didn’t sign a midfielder.

I think I’ve been quite clear that I’d happily replace Kieta - but Klopp had other plans, so I kinda dealt with the disappointment quickly and didn’t feel the need to moan about it constantly.

In saying that - the only way we’re going to develop young talent like Harvey, Carvalho or Jones- is by playing them regularly and taking the short term hit for long term gain - and that isn’t going to happen if we buy loads of midfielders.

Klopp had other plans or was shown the budget he had to go with for a new midfielder so he decided to stick?

Or the midfielders he wanted weren’t available - likely a combination of multiple factors with a bit of stupidity or very cautious restraint.

Although - Klopp Nau have just spent the summer trolling Moron and Bluebell for shits & giggles.

I know - I kept telling him to fuck off and sign someone, and he listened to me and the other 99.99% of LFC fans. When I calmed down and thought about this new guy - it's actually a very astute signing, in that he is what we actually needed for now - someone who can pass well, and is press resistant. I can't wait to see him play.

Though I didn't like his signing, it reeked of a panic buy especially when you look how many games he misses through injury. He is in now, and hopefully he gets us playng

From what I have read, the long injury was related to this car crash he was involved in and also he had covid during the covid season.

But there are other good things in this - one of the big things that pleased me was that he has played with Fab for the Brazil national team, so there will be an instant understanding with an established team member. I always worry with a new midfield signing -that they may take quite a bit of time to adapt but I think this guy will be quickly added. Also for tomorrow's game - he has experience of that league which is another plus for that one game and a good opportunity for him to start for us.

Alisson

“Everything was so quick that I only spoke with him in the day that he was coming to Liverpool, and then after that at the training ground,” he revealed.
“He is an amazing guy. You’re going to see more about him when you see him on the pitch.
“He’s a fantastic player, I’m looking forward to him being really fit and for him to be settled in as soon as possible.
“We know that it’s not easy changing from one country to another. I did the same move as him, coming from Italian football.
“I know there are some differences, but in the end the football is the same.
“With his qualities and his attitude and desire, he can overcome any of these small problems.
“I really believe that he can bring a lot of of quality to the team and he is going to do well.”

“He’s a really talented player, really top qualities, Brazilian way to play,” the goalkeeper told the club’s official website.

“He is a player who likes to have the ball, good quality on the passes, he can break the lines with the passes, long balls as well, long passes as well with quality.
“So I think he brings even more quality to our team and he likes to play the way we play.
“Obviously he needs a little bit of time to adapt to the Premier League, to the rhythm of the game.
“But I’m sure with the team helping him it will be really quick for him to adapt.”

Some very odd stories coming out of the club recently, either somebody in the coaching staff is leaking information to the press or they are just making up random articles to bash players. The stories seem oddly specific which makes me fear there is some truth to them.

The original story about Liverpool’s deciding, possibly, on an early termination came from Italy. And the one about Nūnez’s lack of cognitive abilities came from Spain. I think it’s random player-bashing.

Yeah, it looks like someone is settling scores in their previous clubs or something like that – what Balague wrote seems a lot more believable.

I don’t really know about him..you reckon he’s awful @Fabio
If so I wonder if they did it in haste then, or panic.
He seemed so made up to be signed by us

I've never seen him kick a ball in my life, however the fact Alisson has said he didn't speak til him until he was a liverpool player, means it was a rush job. The stories coming out that if we buy someone in Jan we'll try and end the deal as Klopp doesn't rate him.

It's all screaming Caulker level of loan

I know there’s been a lot of rumours flying round about Klopp not rating him etc. Although now the rumours seem to be that, that’s not true ..not sure what to believe. I guess time will tell. Not like Klopp to allow a rush job
