Awful. Truly truly awful signing
Not that I was happy signing him, he is here now. I hope he proves me wrong. His first outing though lacking match fitness, confirmed he was indeed a crab. Hopefully he can evolve as pokemons do and pass forward.

I've never seen him kick a ball in my life, however the fact Alisson has said he didn't speak til him until he was a liverpool player, means it was a rush job. The stories coming out that if we buy someone in Jan we'll try and end the deal as Klopp doesn't rate him.

It's all screaming Caulker level of loan
Go back watch our 4-0 demolition of Barcelona. He kicked a ball that in that match.

Crabby evolves in to Kingler. A.k.a a bigger fucking crab

Zero risk involved really.

If we picked up any more midfield injuries or Thiago picked up a reoccurrence, then we at least had him in the wings. If it's true Klopp doesn't rate him, then he just won't play him unless shit hits the fan again.

Dunno, 4M isn’t exactly chump change for a club that seems to scrimp and save.

It's a loan....loan signings should never be taken into account imo.

Extending Milner's contract is more of a signing ffs.

A club like Liverpool shoudn't even be making loan signings...actually pained me when we heard we were signing some dud on loan because we all knew it was reactionary to Hendo picking up an injury.

I'm trying to find his injury history and can't for some reason, because I noticed he plays so few games or minutes. I've read he has been out quite frequently for Barca and had a 3 month lay off at Juve.
@King Binny if you could help please or anyone

Zero risk involved really.

If we picked up any more midfield injuries or Thiago picked up a reoccurrence, then we at least had him in the wings. If it's true Klopp doesn't rate him, then he just won't play him unless shit hits the fan again.

Yeah but if he's signed as the Thiago understudy and we never play him cos he's shite then we will inevitably play Thiago until he breaks down again. So I don't see it as zero risk, the risk is to Thiago who is currently first name on the teamsheet.

I’d say, given Arthur hasn’t had a pre-season, isn’t fully fit let alone match fit and needs to learn the Klopp way - then it’s be pretty hard to believe that Klopp has given up on him already.

This isn’t unheard of Ben Davies from a lower league - you don’t play for Brazil, Barca and Juve unless you have sone sort of ability.

If he’s doing extra training and playing for the reserves (means he’s already surpassed Illori) then he’s making the rights noises, atvtge very least.

I’m prepared to give him at least 120 minutes of first team action before I definitively call him shite.

Would be absolutely great if Thiago stayed fit, he’s so good.

If not, I wonder if this guy Arthur could step up, or as some suspect he’s not got what it takes. It seems he’s preparing, we certainly need a stand by in case.

Arthur Melo’s commitment to catching up to the standard of his Liverpool teammates will stand him in good stead when it comes to staking a claim for regular first-team minutes (having yet to make his league debut) after the international break.
The Brazilian will also be encouraged further by a comparison made to classy playmaker Thiago Alcantara from former Red Fabio Aurelio.

I believe Arthur Melo is an interesting addition to this Liverpool squad, and it’s obviously great the Brazilian legacy at Liverpool expands. I hope he has the same success as his compatriots,” the former Red told liverpoolfc.com.
“From what I know about him, he should fit really well in Liverpool’s system.
“He’s a player that likes to constantly be in the game, touching the ball, controlling the pace of play, liking to be dynamic – similar to what Thiago likes to do in a sense.”

The former Bayern Munich star made a full return to the middle of the park in an impressive showing against Ajax in the club’s second Champions League group stage game of the season.

Given how key the Spaniard’s availability seems to be in helping us deliver an overall performance recognisable as an outing from a Jurgen Klopp team at its best, it makes a great deal of sense to have a suitable backup plan should the 31-year-old be forced into another stay on the sidelines.
We’ve no doubt the recruitment and coaching teams will be working in concert to find solutions in the short and long-term to our current reliance on Thiago, though, in the meantime, getting Arthur back up to speed could be critical for our season.

We’ll be keeping our fingers crossed, of course, that Pep Guardiola’s former protege can stay fit for the remainder of the campaign, though it would be a shame to not make use of the clear talent our loan signing has at his disposal.

I thought Spearing was a coach for the youth team not part of the U21 squad? Worse comes to worse we can call him up. The problem with Arthur Melo is his injury record. We don't need another Naby Keita, Ox or CJ.
