He's just got lucky this season. - either that or i completely overreacted, and I was absolutely wrong and that can't be so 🙂. I still think one season of doing well, just puts him up there with Pardew right now. With having one moderately good season. Arsenal have a far easier run in as well.

They'll likely go downhill if they don't get Barry and Lukaku though.

Nah, Martinez is doing a very similar job to Rodgers, only with a significantly lesser squad in terms of talent.
Arsenal will be pulling up trees to get him (I'm convinced Wenger will retire this summer).
Hopefully they don't, Arsenal will become much more threatening once they get rid of that tired old has been and replace him with someone competant.

At the start of the season I didn't expect us to do as well as we have done. My hope was that if we finish at least 6th that would show positive trajectory, but at no point in any of my posts did I label our team as "amateurs".

Fair cop, I only really barely get to see us, but let's see how he does without loanees.
Like I said, season 1 he has worked wonders. Next season we shall see. We've got to remember he was in a relegation battle year after year. If he was that great, we would have seen more from Wigan than the drop zone (yes I know about the cup, but he got relegated in the same season, and every year barely kept them up).
Equally I could be completely wrong and he's the second coming on the Mersey. Signs look good, but for me, he's got a lot to prove to be a manager of the clubs mentioned above. Let's not rush to snap judgement like the know nothing's in the papers.

That is the stuff of myth and legend right there.
As for the managers - Spurs need an absolute monster to go in there and force some concrete into about half the players if they're going to compete in this league. They need Van Gaal and a very good psychologist who can keep the players sane during the process.
Martinez - looks perfect for Arsenal but I don't think he'd consider leaving Everton yet cause he'll feel he owes them something. Plus, why would he leave - Everton look a very exciting project and, as mark says, a lot of potential depending on what Kenwright does.
Kenwright being the key here. IF they get into the CL, Kenwright will have to provide Martinez a big budget (after they get through the qualifiers), as well as all the rest of the money they got for Fellaini.
Did Moyes ever get the money to spend after Rooney, Rodwell, Klingon, etc? Genuinely don't remember but I have my doubts.
They are going to spend most of their cash on building bedrooms at their new training ground! Martinez wants to make sure he can monitor the amount of sleep his players get!

i remember a couple of seasons ago wondering who the up and coming managers were , there didn't seem to be many exciting ones coming through or getting the top jobs . Now there's Simeone , klopp , conte , Martinez , De boer (some say) and of course Rodgers . It's an interesting period with fresh faces who mostly play good football . Oh and that guy Moyes at united is doing a great job .

I intentionally left him out because he is satisfied here (big club, decent transfer funds etc...). The others on the list could be I believe be persuaded to move particularly to Arsenal and Man Utd. Barcelona I'm certain will look for a new manager and I'm pretty sure Diego Simeone will be appointed to that post.

They all turn bad after going to Spurs anyway, so it doesn't matter really. Anyway, he won Milan's first Scudetto in 5 or 6 years I think in his first season there. Next 2 seasons he finished 2nd and 3rd, something like that.
Klopp has just signed a new deal and would not renege on his contract last time a big club came knocking (Bayern ?) and has said that he would always honour his contract. he's not going anywhere.
United : will keep Moyes.

Between now and the end of next season, I would expect the following:
Man Utd: Moyes has up to December to get it right. If they're still playing shit and are outside of the top four by then, he'll be shown the door. Unfortunately.
Chelsea: If / When Mourinho doesn't win anything this season and if/when he continues with the solid but pulse-slowing football style, he'll be shown the door at the end of next season, even if they do win something by then - unless it's something extraordinary, like a treble or something.
Arsenal: If Wenger doesn't win the FA Cup in May, I think he'll finally throw in the towel. A shot at bringing in de Boer and/or the untested Bergkamp given the changes at their Academy, perhaps? They've appointed the Dutchman Andries Jonker to lead their Academy, another Dutchman Frans de Kat to lead their U-18s and - you guessed it - yet another Dutchman Jan van Loon to lead their U16s. Won't surprise me if the U21 manager is replaced by another Dutchman in due course as well.

Allegri for Spurs has fail written all over it.
I would be surprised if Martinez went to Spurs, although I could see him going to United or Arsenal.
Having said that, I doubt that Wenger will leave this summer and I suspect United will give Moyes at least another season. Aside from anything else, he has a long and expensive contact, the club's revenues will be down after failing to qualify for the CL next year and they won't want to be paying him off.
