Arsenal FA Cup post match

We need Sunderland to go out against Brighton/Hull and not reach the quarter finals or it will postpone our league match at home to them, currently scheduled for Monday March 10th.

That's unlikely. Sunderland are going great guns in the cup. We can hope though.

This is what happens when we keep on saying we'll win the title after one positive result.

The manager downplays our chances. The lads keep a low profile. Nobody's blowing their own trumpets saying we'll win this and that....not with still a lot of games to play.

But us fans ?? Yeah, we're the best team in the world.

I like to dream, yes. But I like a bit of perspective as well.

Sterling is developing every single game ... He'll defo be in the England squad, and I just hope his head continues to be wherever it is now. He's really really impressing.

I am not sure Rodgers made the right call starting Agger today ...

He was great even when he dropped into left back and he can only get better.
Sakho please as soon as he is fit

Sunderland vs Brighton/Hull is already that weekend. Our game is moved whatever.

What I'm trying to say is Sunderland have already reached the quarters. Today was 5th round.

We played well but you can't miss FOUR 1on1s like that against a top side and expect to win.

Let's just hope this result doesn't set us back at all, confidence-wise.

We have enough in this side to get a top 3 finish if everyone stays fit.

Should have, could have, would have. Fact is we have lost away to the top 3 this season in the league and cups.

As happens to many teams. People need to remember where we were last season, the leap we've made has been staggering, we can be forgiven for losing three games against the three best teams in the league, two of them marginally in what was fairly balanced encounters. We just snotted the same shower 5-1 a week ago, we put 4 past Everton and 5 past Spurs, something that was pretty unthinkable in September.

I am more than happy with the way we're playing. Arsenal will be the first to admit it was lucky but that's what happens when you don't take your chances. Seems we left too much to the judgement of a cowardly official but them's the breaks. If we can continue playing this way (and defending better) we'll achieve more than 4th. Onwards and upwards.

We were decent. on another day thats 2-4/5.

Some decisions didn't go our way and a few near misses, typified with the suarez effort that on another match day you'd like to think ripples the net, doesn't,arsenal break and score a second.

Gerrard - Wow, some outrageous hollywood balls
Sterling - Gets better with every game, a different player to 12 months ago
Coutinho - Winner

I don't think i could be much happier in defeat than I am after this. I think if we put that sort of performance in for our remainding games, we'll come damn close to whoever wins the title.

That's the best we've played at Arsenal in a long long time. We dominated the game and were massively unlucky to lose. We created double their chances and how many teams have so much of the play against Arsenal? Bad result and I know moral victories are fucking shite and all, but we really can take loads of positives from this.

Good point Mr. Mac - we played really well at their place, and created enough chances to win.

I'd have loved to win this trophy, but if this means we come out blazing against Swansea and destroy them, I'm ok with it. At the end of the day, this year is about getting into the top 4 (hopefully higher). Yes, I know we should be winning trophies, but in the long term - a top 4 finish & no trophy this year will be very positive for the club's immediate future.

We're playing the best we have for years and years fun to watch especially offensively, Arse with only 42% possession at home. We won't lose many anywhere if we play like this.

They celebrated like they'd won the Champions league there. It demonstrated just how much our bitch slapping has damaged them. And how much they coveted a victory against us. Even an undeserved, backs-to-the -walls shitting themselves victory.

Fuck Arsenal - I hope Pep was watching and Bayern maul them ... They are ready for a collapse - the doubt is there. I traditionally don't like zee Germans, but like when they played against the Chav cunts, I'll make an exception againt his year

All the websites are saying "Gooners advance with help from Webb" ... Fuck that, we should have made his shite irrelevant. They advanced because they took advantage of their chances, we didn't. I think our two strikers will be pissed at letting this game slip away - excellent.

How come Utd didn't take Webb on their warm weather training break.

Oh and by the way, we are really good to watch at the moment.

Agger needed to be more of a cunt and take the yellow for their second. Gerrard did it in the first half when Oxlade-Chamberlain got away from him. On another day Sturridge could have had a hat-trick. Webb was just......Webb. He shouldn't be allowed to referee another match involving us again. I said to my mate before the game 'wait 'til you see what he's got in store today' half joking. Those who are unfussed and saying it's a blessing that we went out, there's like 3 games left including the final and only two of those are during the premier league season, so it'd hardly interrupt our schedule. Let's not kid ourselves it was a great chance for some silverware with Man City the only other big team left in the competition. Gutted they smashed and grabbed after we obliterated them the whole game...

I despair when some fuss over 'resting' players before these games. We're a so-so club with a great history, but at the moment we're a so-so club, yet you see fans time and again picking and choosing what games they deem worthy of being at full strength for. It's utterly pathetic. You earn that mentality after you've won a few trophies on the trot. You don't earn it from what you did forty years ago. We're coasting through the season compared to Champions League teams, and still whenever there's even the slightest sign of an 'easy' game, you'll get people suggesting half the first team gets a rest. If we qualify this year, believe me, if our players really are that frail we'll be bombed out of every competition going. It's quite exasperating. This team needs to earn a rest. It won't have done that until it guarantees fourth place.

No. Magic is when he can be @rsed. Sterling's a tough little customer though, as well as quick and skilful. Rodgers has done a great job with him.

The foul on Suarez and the refusal to send off Steven Gerrard were two of the worst decisions of the season. Howard Webb, World Cup referee.

Whilst the points made in this tweet are true. The tweeter himself is an horrible Scouse hating charlatan who I've had the dubious pleasure of meeting due to one of my oldest friends being in the media.

John Brewin hates all things Scouse with every ounce of strength in his body. Horrible, nasty fucking weasel and frankly why I didn't knock the cunt out when I had the chance all those years ago, in a pub in Shepherds bush, I live to regret. Cunt.

He's a cracking player. And what a ballsy sub by Rodgers, one that expressed a complete faith in Sterling.

Ah well. No replay to squeeze in to the fixtures, no embarrassing defeat by any means, not outplayed at all, Webb may feel he owes us one, & no match for Everton to try to kick us to shit in either. Could be worse. I'm not too unhappy.
Yeah I'm the same. Lots of positives to take from that. Webb proving again he's a thunder cunt. That was a very poor decision by him that will rightly raise eyebrows. I'm loving how Sterling seems to be developing at an exponential rate. Over all I'm surprisingly not arsed. It's all about the league innit.

Sterling was boss.

Cissokho is still not a good footballer

Brad Jones can't catch a ball

Agger needs more match fitness but i'd have Sakho over him when he returns

This Suarez on the wing thing is more likely to make him wanna leave than not being in the CL

Sturridge in tears after the game. I like it that our players show that they care.
Love the Studge and I hope he scores a hat trick against Swansea.
