One of our close friends in Jeru have a daughter who was born with half a heart ...
On Monday, she underwent her 4th heart surgery ... She's 4 ... and she's coming through brilliantly it seems (it's never great recovering in a hospital when you're a kid).
Something her mom said really hit me though ... "Before the last surgery (i.e. 3rd), I spent an hour almost listening to her breathe and holding her as she slept. I just wanted to have her warmth and sound imprinted in my mind in case."
It made me think a lot ... I think I appreciate and love my family - I mean, I do but compared to these parents? Do I? Herr mentions this a lot on his FB posts - about 'loving those important to you' etc ...Do you folk feel you appreciate your loved ones? If G-d/Allah/Whoever forbid your spouse/children were to go tomorrow, would you feel you made the most of your time with them? Would they know how much you loved and cared for them?
