Bolton scores from the resulting free kick I think.
That was a game I stayed up til about 2am to watch in Australia.. Gary Speed scored.

I've really grown to dislike European snobbery about the way Americans run sports. Yes, the TV breaks are a pain, and the commercialism and showbizzy thing can be over the top...
But, through the draft system they really try to make their leagues competitive and prevent the rich clubs buying all the talent. Imagine a league where every team had a few really good players and you went into the start of every season not being sure who was going to be in the top half of the table, nevermind the top four. All the top European leagues are a joke and we're fucking idiots for watching it. It's basically as fixed as that stupid wrestling that some of you watch.
Occasionally, I think Robbie Savage's dress sense is alright.

Are you serious?I prefer AFL to football these days. By quite a distance too. It's the closest thing to 'pure' sport as I can find. For the most part, the players are honest and their on-field endeavours are flawless. The pride they take in offering up an effort in performance is incredible. Every single week the vast majority of them put their bodies on the line for the good of the team.
It puts the token gesture efforts of most premier league players to shame.
I get far far more enjoyment out of watching it.

I find the constant moaning about the state of play within football tiresome. It feels like people get all involved in all the negative aspects around it and then complain that's all there is to the game. The world is completely different to the way it was 30-40 years ago and yet for some reason football is expected to stay the same.
I was talking with a mate of mine the other day about something similar. Of all the top European leagues, how many teams can win them?
In England, realistically, Chelsea and Man City at the moment.
In Italy, one: Juventus
France, one: PSG
Spain, two, Atletico's triumph aside. Real and Barca
Germany - Bayern Munich. Maybe Dortmund, but most likely not for a while.
Portugal - Benfica and Porto.
It's shit now, and we're all dummies for putting up with it. Football is a business now, and we can see that with how the "major corporations" are monopolising all of the leagues. Our football is no longer ours, it's no longer an escape from the mundaneness and treachery of the real world. It, too, has been incorporated into it.
Hahaha. This is ace.I've said it before, but I believe Ryan & Dreambeliever are in fact a middle aged gay couple, living in a semi in an Adelaide suburb, playing out a soap opera to an SCM audience for their own mutual enjoyment.
I will add to that by stating I am now convinced Ryan and Rosco are the same person
And Oncie is JJ's lovechild
The game is the same, broadly speaking the best teams are still the best teams. There are just more avenues for complaint now. The element of surprise has also gone with round the clock speculation and reporting also playing it's part to dull the senses. You can't row back but something has been lost.
Are you serious?
Outside of a handful of teams everyone is just plodding along until the end of season and the next draft pick. Ffs Carlton are already talking about ranking to get a good draft pick for next year.
With no cup comps and no relegation or promotion there is fuck all to play for for most teams after 5/6 rounds.
Fuck all of Carlton, Gold Coast, st Kilda players give a toss already.
I don't care if Sterling leaves as I've never liked him. But then I don't like loads of our current players. In fact, I actively dislike more of our squad now than I even did under Hodgson.

I always spot foul throws and I hate that I do.
