So are you back posting now for good Sunny, or is this a testing-the-waters thing in case you decide to strop off again?

Only asking.

I'm kind of coming and going at the moment as I have been for a bit.

What's the rumoured fee for Higuain then Sunny?

He's never been a favourite of mine, much in the way I've never thought Benzema would do as well outside of Madrid.

No idea mate just heard he may be a target may not even be true but a decent source, not a bullshitter

Yep, sorry bout that.

I dunno. I needed a login anyway to come in and send a message of two to a few lads at times. Also wanted a bit of restart with myself on here. Got far too invested in the place and it all felt stale and frustrating at times which I can relate to how some of the mods are probably feeling at the moment. Just wanted to get back to being more light hearted and pissing about on here a bit, you know, having fun which was all fine and actually taking that approach made it easier to look at things in an easier more nonchalant way. Bit mad that there's so much bickering still over silly transfer gossip stuff and probably went off on one a bit on that tonight. You'd like to think it's just silly season stuff but it's does seem it's gone on for a bit longer. Anyway, I find it much easier to step in and out these days and suits me better. Should have chose a shorter username. It's a cunt to login on a phone if you lose your cookies.

Bitterly disappointed to lose out of Sanchez. he would have been amazing i think. James Pearce was saying there that we were waiting and waiting for him. Will be interesting to see who's next on that particular list.

So in summary, you missed me.

Why not just tell Ross not to criticize twitter posts?

Put one mod/admin in charge of moderating articles/tweets/whatever, and making sure they're at least plausible. It doesn't have to be a very involved role, just keeping an eye on the absolutely stupid stuff. If Ross, or anybody else, finds information that they have a good reason to believe false, they refer it to this one individual.

Seems simple enough. And if Ross continues to stir this shit up, as he tends to do, then go slap him or something. Bring him a dozen donuts. Talk about how small his penis is.

Ha, essentially. The main reason I left was because I was fed up of bickering and moaning when you were ploughing time and funds into it. Although not massive amounts of both, it was enough, amongst other things, to be putting me off Liverpool. I felt massively disconnected from other fans but maybe it's a generation thing. Took a year out of going the game last season as well (I know, I must be a jinx) to spend more time of a weekend with my son too which has done me a world of good. Doubt I'll ever go back to going to every game religiously will probably pick and choose more now. Part time cunt seems to suit me better

Fair enough, well welcome back anyway.

Don't strop off like a big fag again.

Ta. By the way, the only game I went to last year was Southampton, which we inevitably lost. I was planning on going again until we went on the unbeaten league home streak until Chelsea and became superstitious. I believed there's a petition somewhere to stop me going next year.

Ha, even fucking I went to more games than that last year, and we won every game I was at.

Maybe I'm the yin to your yang Sundog.

Are tweets from @monkey sponge considered plausible?

Great to have ya back and see some common sense around the place. You're the Kurd to the Shia and Sunni on here...

Fabio, i'll quote some of your posts as you are the mod trying to explain things to the forum so don't take this an attack coz baby you know your my world.

Just some feedback on a few points that interested me.

First of all, why have tweets and more particularly the choice of tweets jumped to the forefront as the possible ruination of the site? Are we allowing tweetgate to spiral out of control here? Is it more of a pet hate for Ross more so than an actual problem that is destabilising the forums as a whole? The rows stem from Ross as you put it, ramming twitter up Hansern's arse, everyone else is okay to let it pass them by.

Now he's just trying to improve the forum by keeping bollocks out, but lo and behold, an unpopular move because Ross championed it

Bit confused here with the bit about keeping the bollocks out? Is that simply referring to crap tweets about transfers? Or what other bollocks is Ross/Mods trying to keep out?

To reiterate my initial point, I don't get why Ross or whoever it is, is making such a storm out of a teacup over tweets. I totally agree that only tweets from respected journalists should carry weight in a discussion thread but if other tweets slip by the net, then let them. Just ignore them like the majority of the site do. For decent posters like Hansern or Mystic or whoever to be accused of 'being a stupid cunt' or peddling 'lies' is ridiculous. Each time a tweet was posted that didn't meet Ross's degree of satisfaction it was met with disdain and unnecessary attention. Now if we (as a forum) need to save the bandwidth then by all mean exercise protocols to nip 'shit tweets' in the bud. Tell members just to try post tweets from journos etc.People will follow suit.

Tweets mean nothing to me personally. I don't even know which journo's are worth listening too. I see it, read it, move on. The next tweet might even negate the one I read previously but I'm an adult so I'll make up my own mind but usually I'll disregard it all as bullshit or page fillers. Heck, every now and again I might even throw caution to the wind and be naive (or a stupid cunt) for a min and allow my head flirt with a tweet. A tweet I know deep down is no good. After all it is silly season and sure one dance won't hurt me. But at the end of the day our skepticism (due to twitter giving every nobody a voice) won't allow us to believe that a Higuain or a Sanchez are actually coming until we see them holding the shirt.

All we want is for people to discuss things. Not just post tweet after tweet. There's a world cup on and there's like.... 3 threads. The scouting one, a match thread and girls of the world cup thread.

Why not try and discuss the failings of each side?
Why DID Spain go out in the group?
How did Costa Rica make the quarter finals of the world cup?

Once again not having a go here, but are mods immune from creating such threads if ye deem them worthwhile discussion topics? Why not lead by example and demonstrate the forum ye want it to be?

On a side note, is it possible to get a stat on who creates the most threads in the football forum? Just for interest sake. I'm confident the names heading the top of the list would be Mystic, Hansern, Modo, Mark, Buddha, Ross and Jono. That's who springs to mind off the top of my head. We do need others chipping in.

I think Keni is nailing it with his comments in relation to the site btw. I've noticed a lot agreeing with him too by the likes his posts are receiving. I just want to touch on Keni's example of @studsup thread about Arsenal for a minute. Sometimes a thread like that will come along and it won't even be read. Or someone will say "Im not reading that, it's too long" or "can someone binny that for me". I get the feeling that our less frequent posters don't want to initiate threads. It must be a bit disheartening to spend time forming a thread and then watch it drift down the message board. Why would they bother. Now, this is in no way the faults of the mods. I'm just highlighting that it happens.

Also, don't forget that it's silly season. We have no games to talk about. The main discussion topics we currently have is our transfer targets. The majority of speculation comes from twitter unfortunately. Catch 22. It will iron itself out when the season starts and the transfer window closes.

Can we let the current twittergate (why does everything have to be a gate these days) go or die down for a bit. It has spiraled across a multitude of threads. It shouldn't be that big of a deal in my book anyway. Maybe i'm alone on that but I don't see the future of the forum hinging on whether we allow tweets or not. This forum has the ability to not only juggle but be a home to some contrasting styles. On our best day we can read the sublime (Ryan's long football related posts), the wonderful (the inner thoughts of Woland), the serious (Rurik or Pesam's scout reports) and then wash it all down with the whimsical nature of Gene. I think that's what people like about this place. I like to consider myself as an eloquent speaker when I need to be but I also realise this is an internet forum and not the New York Times. Lighten up people and enjoy logging on here again. We might as well enjoy being here since we spend half of our internet lives rowing with each other.

Well that's enough waffle from me but before I go, can Mark and Modo take a page out of Ryan and DB's current bromance and quit the point scoring across threads. Can Ross stop being a dick and go back to being FUN BOBBY and for the love of god can someone track down @Piedro

Peace amach.

*Sticks oar in*

What is funny about all this is that posters get grief for posting transfer rumours in a transfer rumour thread!

Who really gives a fuck where the rumour comes from? surely everyone knows the score about the sources and if they don't they will soon learn, rumours give us something to talk about and gets conversations going, that's the whole point of a forum, if no-one talks it'll die on its arse.

Its quite obvious to see what causes the issues here - repetitive negativity, that's what does it, Rosco and Modo are the main culprits of this constant negativity, im not trying or meaning to stick the boot in here, just pointing out what is actually happening.

Fabio, you make a really good point about good posts getting lost amongst the shit (repetitive negativity mainly), the transfer thread and some others are often getting side tracked because of a mods pet hate, people are even not wanting to post because of it, that isn't right, nor is it that conversations are getting drowned out and also being blocked from starting..

Also Mark is completely right about Modo, look at the Lallana thread, Modo took a massive dump in it right at the start and still won't stop smearing his shit all over it, that constant negative shite is side tracking and dragging down yet another thread, good posts are getting lost and decent discussion is getting blocked all because someone has their knickers in a twist and has to let everyone know constantly, if Modo was capable of constructing a decent argument for his opinion then it wouldn't be as bad but he doesn't seem capable of doing that, instead we get a thread smeared in shit.

What about banning posters from certain threads? then again most threads don't last anyway.

That's a good post, especially the bit about my great long posts.

I might edit it. Don't want you get a big head so that it won't fit into the forum anymore.

No need, it's not like anyone's gonna disagree with you is it?

But back to the point. I think Ross's original complaint (which I agreed with) was people posting Twitter rumours as credible fact. Jaydog872 or whatever say's we're in for Simao and a deal could be struck within weeks, that shit gets posted, and then we have a 28 page thread on Simao with all the mandatory youtube vids, and where's he gonna fit in the best 11. All whacked togethor with how credible Jaydog872 is, and the fact he was the "first person to say Fowler was coming back 7 years ago".

I hate that shite too, and I doubt I'm not alone.

If we could cut some of that balls out I wouldn't be against it either.

I think that's got extrapolated into 'NO MORE TWITTER' which I don't think even Ross wants anyway. I don't mind the odd Twitter shit, and if it breaks from the monotony of reading Mark's 9 paragraphs soliloquy's then even better, but just don't dress the whole fucking forum around the latest twitter rumour.

Which gets back to my original point in some other thread. Can't we just use some judgement? Not just with twitter, but the fucking forum in general?
