I remember when I was in school a female teacher was discussing with girls in the classroom how attractive some of the players were and she was raving about Klinsmann's legs in Italia 90. I was around 16 then and nothing was thought of it. The teacher in question was also the sister of a famous morning show presenter on ITV.
Also in USA 94 - I remember the game between Brazil and Sweden, the score was 0-0 for ages, and Barry Davies and Ron Atkinson were commentating on ITV. The camera man decided to show the crowd and specifically some scantily clad girls from Brazil dancing and Barry Davies said 'Well there are other interesting things to look at ...' - Ron starting laughing and said 'I can't believe you..'. Again - no issues in the media about that during the non-internet age.
Switching to Cricket and it was a test match between Pakistan and England in the 90's. There was this pakistani supporter all dressed in a green arab thobe - long white beard and was nearly in every Pakistan game spotted by the Cameraman. Eventually this supporter was labelled 'cha cha' - translated as 'Uncle'. Imran Khan was commentating with Tony Lewis - and Imran Khan made a comment calling him 'He is a Cricketing Fundamentalist', Tony Lewis just started laughing but shocked Imran had said that.
Problem is these days every fucking action, word, is just nearly an offense to someone out there. It's fucking stupid - and I hate all those women footballers they keep bringing onto BBC/ITV for their opinion. Just don't need it - and also I wonder what the women that watch football think coz a lot of them only are interested in watching the footy during the World Cup - I remember the one in Germany was it in 2006 ? - the women were loving the bbc coffee table during the match analysis.

Blame their empty words and posturing. The fact is when you intervene to help, they suddenly call you mentally ill for the things you do to get the win, and the supposed cause they claimed to be in support of goes out the window.
