This one was terrible, not just in hindsight either, everyone pretty much knew it was a bad decision but it proved worse than that...
Wolves sacking Mick McCarthy when they were in with a fighting chance of staying up, not only that but they didn't have anyone to replace him and then no bugger wanted the job so they ended up giving it to McCarthys hapless assitant Terry Connor who looked like he wanted to be anywhere but in the position he was in.
Conners record for the remainder of the season was 0 4 9 and Wolves went down without a whimper, then the following season in the Championship went down again to League 1.
Woeful stuff.
