Post Match Wolves (A) - Sat 28th Sept 17:30

That is probably the main difference between him and Klopp.
Klopp would definitely have brought on Endo in the last 10-15 mins and Gomez would have come on earlier.
Tbh this was probably a good thing he didn't

Bullshit. It's not a debate. We're unquestionably not shit. That doesn't mean we're perfect. Everyone is welcome to point out our deficiencies, but doing so with no perspective and calling us rubbish is just stupid.

We're fucking shite

It was a shambolic performance by all players, however, Salah was once again quite awful! I sincerely hope that LFC don't be fooled by his latest antics about discussion with the Saudi club. The club should not offer him another contract. Slot did admit that the team performance was bad, We are quite happy with the 3 points at this stage of the season. Good luck

Interesting to watch that. In almost every clip he is lacking a right back to interplay with down the wing. When Trent inverts, Salah suffers.
I don't think Trent was the issue. Salah was just incredibly poor and if blame is shared anywhere it is with his right-sided midfielder Szobo, who could not make a pass all day long and was rarely available.

We've had to watch this for the last 18 months, the Wolves game highlighted nothing new.

The 1 time he does beat his man, he half stops then tries to beat him again before being tackled.....a clear indication someone doesn't trust their ability to go down the outside anymore.

& all wingers/wide forwards need their fullbacks to help out to function effectively, Trent tucking inside just behind him does nothing for our forward momentum.....under/overlapping runs will at least draw a defender away.

will he play in the big double header against mauritania in a week and a half’s time?

Mo’s biggest issue is losing a couple of yards, he can’t just beat a defender once anymore. They don’t stay beaten, either catching him or a second defender will.

Yep, there may be benefits to Trent inverting, but getting the best out of Mo isn't one of them. Compounded by Szobo being poor.

Yep. This is something great that Elliot offers as he is quite natural out wide. Main challenge is having two left footers on the right.

And yet he has 8 goal involvements in 6 games. Only bettered by Palmer and Haaland.

He still has these moments though where he looks his age. When he's fired up and he's had a refresh he's great, after games start coming thick and fast and managers avoid taking him off for fear of a sulk, he starts to show his age and his lack of stamina across a game.

There are plenty of deficiencies creeping into his decline that are obvious with him. The constant shaping to put it on his left foot and into the far corner, despite the fact he's barely been able to do that for about 3-4 years, that's the kind of thing that's really fucking annoying and why people get frustrated. Him trying to take on players when he's not got the stamina to do it, that's another. When a fullback has the beating of him he doesn't try to be clever about it and take a different approach.

He's amazing, his stats are still amazing, but we can't rely on him to play almost all of every Premiership game, he's not got it in him and it will cost us. He and us both need to learn that he needs a bit of back up and for his and our sake, he needs to come off in or miss out on the odd game.

The more I see of our approach with Slot, the more I think Salah would work as the #9. His movement is still elite, his instinct, first touch and finishing it still great. The only challenge might be his severe one-footedness but that isn't unique to him. If we had other options on the right, I think this would be a really interesting change.

Agree, and hopefully with Chiesa coming in he can be rotated more. But I’d wager that there arent many players in the league with better stamina than him.
