After that fucking vile joke of a club, aka the "new Newcaste" Tottenham Hotspur beat us the other day, it was all doom and gloom, we couldn't pass, our midfield didn't exist, none of our best players turned up, we have no chance of winning the league etc etc.

Then after we beat Stoke, sorry thumped Stoke, Johnson is the best right back in the league, Gerrard is part Brazilian, were tasty going forward and nothing can stop us.

Ok slight exagerations each way but the point remains, which game best represents our level? I personally think we're good, I still think we're the best team in the league right now, put simply no team in the league is as dangerous as we can be going forward. Tottenham showed us though that we need a little more calm in our midfield, we appear to be very vunerable to teams getting to us without Alonso, this really needs to be address.

How's the season gonna progress, was Tottenham a one off? Or are we going to see more teams do it to us?

We just needed an outlet against Spurs, but they seemed to have covered all our options.

Alonso used to be the easy way out of situations.

Now we've got Johnson down the right, Insua down the left, Gerrard and Torres through the middle, we just need to use them effectively.

Few conclusions can be drawn from either game, IMO, and I don't think either match serves as an indicator for how our season will develop.

The only things that have been highlighted so far is:

- Lucas has become more aggressive, but there are still doubts about a Lucas-Masher partnership.
- Johnson has proved key in our attacking play in both games and has done extremely well
- Reina is still superb
- Torres isn't up to speed yet.

The Stoke match is a much fairer indication of the coming season than the Spurs game.

We weren't exactly excellent at Stoke,we just did everything we needed to.

we didn't turn up against Spurs for 60-70 minutes.

I agree we weren't superb last night (Iwatched the full 90 mins) but there was greater cohesion in our passing and movement.

Stoke possessed little or no threat save for the ball wiping skills of Higginbotham before he launched it into our box and the little shit in midfield who was clogging everything that moved.

We weren't that good but didn't need to be and still won 4-0.

We didn't turn up against Spurs period save for Benayoun, Reina and Johnson.

The Carra-Skrtel collision certainly affected our performance against the Spurs. We seemed to be disorganised for most parts of the game and partly because of that incident (also because Babel was shit etc). We'll be fine now we've found our feet. CB is my only worry currently.

I regularly predict Spurs would do well but I do so with more belief this year

Redknapp's doing a fine job, and has bought well and reduced their previous weaknesses.

Should be looking at a top 7 finish.

I hate them. I used to like Harry at Pompey, now I can't stand him and his arrogance. I hate Keane an' all. And King.

I hope they don't do well.

I really hope Spurs crash and burn (metaphorically only, obv).

I do hope Spur's take points off the other teams in the 'big 4'.

Looking forward the north London derbies this year.

Should be ace matches.
