So, it appears there aren't the greatest amount of players who are as versatile across the front 3, or as good as suarez

Who are your 2 players to replace him?

Assume we're getting 2 players aside from Markovic, who would you like? A striker and a winger

Go.

Luis Muriel and Juan Iturbe.

I can't resist Muriel. He's a huge risk but I just couldn't resist - I'd love it if he signed.

Remy and Draxler would be my second choice.

Reus+Markovic works just fine for me.

Shaqiri is another quality option, as is Lacazette. Wonder if Jese would be available at the right price. Lavezzi could also do if PSG will sell at a cut rate after bringing in Di Maria.

Can't help but think Rodgers would work wonders with Moura and help him along to be that superstar player he should be.

Reus would be the one but its never going to happen, his mate Schurrle would be nice as well.

Bony plus one of the wide players that I know fuck all about. Greizmann would do. I would have liked Tadic before he moved.

I was going to post a similar thread - but this will do. From the list of players we are getting linked with or not linked with - I have four players who I think will do the business for us next season and improve us:-

1) Lovren - need him to command the defense and is priority.

2) Bony - I know most are not excited but you need to face the facts, you are not going to find the 30 goal a season striker, and please let us not disrespect the talent that surrounded Suarez who also created chances for him to score. We need the extra striker and I don't think there are many strikers out there who will guarantee us success. For the price being quoted I think it is worth the risk because lets face it if we spend 40M on Benzema - I don't think it will guarantee goals as you have to service him with clear cut chances.

3) Arda Turan - don't know if the current links are valid - but from everything I have read, he seems like the box to box guy we need to make a real impact. Will be worth the investment.

4) Cuadrado - currently Barca are linked to him - but I tell you what this guy would make a huge difference to our attack.

Now I know that some people think we need cover for our LB/RB - I honestly think it is not a priority but if it is then we should just go for one of the guys from the US team for right back as cover and competition for Glen Johnson. In particular - I am thinking of DeAndre Yedlin.

Moron gets a like for Bony obviously and he is spot on. Bony is the best 20+ goal a season striker out there that is affordable and available. He is not a Suarez replacement by himself but neither is anybody else.

I'd take Benzema and Shaqiri. Not sure how realistic those two are, to be honest.

On the issue of Benzema - I actually believe we cannot afford to have players like him at our club. After watching him play for France and a few times for Real Madrid - I cannot justify an outlay of £40M for a player who is going to be goal-hanging for much of the game waiting for a chance to be setup for him. I want the front man and Liverpool need their front man to come and join the midfield and create chances as well as score them. I think the days of a Fowler type striker are over for us.

I think he's more than just that, though. He's good technically and is creative. That's why I'd have him over Higuain, who seems more of a throwback to the old poacher/finishers.

Unfortunately that is where I disagree with you - yes he has that powerful nature to him, kind of reminds me of that Brazilian striker Adriano. But he just comes accross as lazy and I tell you what ... for £40M I expect a player to be on top form in every game and he does not give me that feeling. I also get this feeling that he may need time to adapt to the pace of the PL, compared to what he has experienced so far.

I reckon we'll sign another forward which we obviously need, and then we'll be done signing attackers (apart from Markovic and probably Origi if that goes through). The Markovic link didn't appear until we knew Suarez was on his way... he's the second part of the 1 becoming 2.

I think he will be extra to it myself.

Funnily enough I'm getting less and less convinced about Bony as the link has gone on. Good player, but having watched plenty of footage I'm really not sure he's what we need, which is either - or preferably both - a clear alternative to Sturridge, or someone to play alongside him, probably in a wide forward role. He's neither, really.

It could be that BR wants Sturridge to do the role that Suarez did and this guy Bony will do what Sturridge did while Suarez was here.

We MUST buy another striker. I don't find the Bony videos convincing but you can't argue with 25 goals last season at Swansea, not Real, not Barca. I don't think any of the established stars (Benzema, Higuain) are realistic targets for one reason or another.

Cuadrado has been excellent for a few years now, not just at the World Cup, but I'm not sure if available, if not then I think Shaqiri is not only a player that suits Brendan and Liverpool, all action, never-say-die, works-his-socks-off and is very flexible capable of playing anywhere across the frontline or as a winger, but surprisingly is still s reasonable price, under €20M.

Shaqiri - yes he was good at the world cup, and I think for Switzerland he plays well. But from what I can see of the stats at Bayern from Wiki - they don't read that well since 2012. Is he the Milan Baros type ? plays very well for country but lacks something at club level ? Not that many appearances for club either.

But what kind of striker do we need? That's my point. IMO we need someone who can do a similar job to Sturridge. I don't see Bony as that player, but I think Remy probably is. My dream signing of Luis Muriel is too, as well as being a decent option out wide - if he gets himself back on track, that is.

I agree about Shaqiri btw. He's a bargain at £20m, let alone less than that.

You've got to remember that at Bayern he's competing with Ribery, Robben and Muller for starts ! Still he played 38 in 2012 and 26 in 2013. Not sure how injuries affected him (if at all) in either season.

I can't comment on players in Italy as I never get to see them in action. Over here I get all (every single one) of the PL matches on satellite and many Bundesliga matches on terrestrial. Highlights of La Liga are often shown but nothing of the Scudetto 🙁

I'd be happy with Remy too. We were linked with him for ages before he went to Newcastle.
